babies names.

a friend of mine is having difficulty thinking of a name for his baby which is due in july. he, in his infinnate wisdom, has ask me for some ideas. as a good friend i jumped at the chance, and after some research and looking through books, internet and movie endings i've come up with jack s**t.

how hard could it be. all i've got to do is think of a name that the child will have for the rest of his life. a name that's strong, honorable, modren and will mirror his personality. although the personality would come later in life, i'm going with the personality of the parents here.

i've been at it for a week and still i'm no closer to suggestions than i was when i started this.i've looked at singer, movies star, authors, old names and new. yet nothing.

when people try to find names for there new born do they always have this difficulty or have they already thought of a name before hand and how do they go about choosing a name.

this will go on my list of hard things that ive done as it's not easy trying to name somebody for life.

Does he know the sex yet? Here are a few suggestions if you don't mind some input. I have a friend who has two sons...they are named Daylan Creed and Jayden River. One of my sons is named Micheal but if he had been a girl the name would have been the same just spelled Mikol or Mikel. Some others are Diamond, Cheyenne, Kelsey, Sky, etc. etc. I agree in making it original to identify their personality but actually the name starts it. I hope these help and you didn't mind the suggestions. Tell your friend congrats on the baby and enjoy every minute. They grow up way too fast.

It took 8 months to come up with a name for my 1st son...the other two seemed to come about easier...guess it just all depends...such an important thing naming a child.

thanks for all your post ladies. i don't know the baby's sex and they don't want to know so i have to come up with a few of each.
so far i've thought of dylan,patrick- after picard, don- my fav football team. that's it for boys names. they seem to be the hardest to figure out.
girl's names are just as hard. amber, jolie, hannah, dawn, libby. that's about it.
and a special thxs to long haired nikki for putting a smile on my face. i don't think jack s**t would go down well but my mate has that kind of humour. his wife might not see the funy side though. thanks again and keep them coming

I was once told to pick a name that will suit them as a child at school, as a bride/groom getting married and as a grandparent..makes sense that a great name will suit them at all stages of their life.
