Dance Showcase is October 15th

Practice Practice Practice. Well, i am performing two routines for October Showcase. A Bolero and Foxtrot. The bolero is a very sexy dance in a slow, sensual, rhumba-time. Using Berlin's "Take My Breath Away" as the song. The foxtrot is a faster paced 'society foxtrot', slow-slow-quick-quick time. Using Soft Cell's "Baby Don't Leave Me" (Second half of "Tainted Love" remix). Getting the costuming, entrance, and sequence of steps together is always a challenge. Then you practice practice practice for two 2-minute routines. And i am completing Silver 1 in my syllabus, and looking forward to Silver 2. I do a 10-dance syllabus - Swing, Rhumba, Cha-Cha, Tango, Waltz, Foxtrot ,Argentine Tango, Bolero, Salsa, Viennese Waltz. I have to meet standards in each dance before i get promoted. You know, when it quits being fun, i'll know it's time to stop. I hope ladies love a guy that can dance. Hey, it is the one time in a man's life he gets to lead!!! DANCE=GASMS!!!!!!!!!!

I've always wanted to learn some of the more intricate dance steps but you know how it is, life gets in the way. Do I say good luck or break a leg!

I had to take stretches away from dancing. A car accident, and a boat accident. I get alot of the advanced steps, but when we do post-showcase critiques, i get small penalty points for styling and technique, i.e., hand and feet position, and am i looking up or down, etc. Good luck! (Never break a leg!!....LOL!) Wanna Dance? Hug=gasms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well Tad, good luck Sweetie! Remember to save a Viennese waltz for me--I'll be the one in the long black chiffon full skirt, with the white top with the crystal beads and silver sandals.

It seems Tad that you just get better by the day! I'll just leave it to my imagination as to how besides dancing rhythm is used . . . .

Warm and cuddley Teddy Bear to you Tad.

Oh my...I used to watch the ballroom dancing competitions on PBS from down int he states with my mom. I was mesmerized by the grace the fluid motions of the couples and ...I used to think that they looked like princesses and their handsome they just seemed to float around on the floor. *smiles*...To be able to dance like be in the moment of such a dance...that is what dreams are made of...
ps...I think your music choices for the dances that you will be doing are wonderful...and I send an extra pinch of luck your way for your competition

I love ballroom. I watched every ballroom show on PBS, TLC, and A&E. I wished they would show more. I still battle self-esteem issues, and at my age, and with my 'pudgy' look, i never see myself as a prince......but each time i am out on the floor, and i execute every step, the smile takes over, and i feel, just for a few minutes, that i am a prince, and every woman i dance with is a princess. I know most of us will never look or dance like the pro's, but dancing has helped me in way's i can't put into words. I hope i continue for a lot longer......Thanks Shy..........TANGO=GASMS!!!
