Have you seen my arm lately??

I believe it to be hanging at a gas station in lieu of the traditional pump!
On Wednesday, I filled my car up with gas. Usually I reserve this routine for Friday night, but I heard a little rumor about gas being hiked up to an astonishing $4.00 per gallon!!! So I filled up on Wednesday from just under half a tank. That little half a tank of gas ran me about $22.00!

I remember when I could have filled up twice with $22.00, from empty, and it really wasn't that long ago!!! When I filled my tank I believe the price had already risen about 30 cents to $2.99 per gallon.

Later in the day, after work was done, I passed by that same gas station and the price had gone up an additional 16 cents per gallon! The next day ,Thursday, it had peaked out at $3.19 per gallon and it has pretty well stayed that price since! I believe that is also around the same price as milk these days...

Mind you, I am not a cheap-skate...I am frugal because of necessity. I am self-employed and my buisiness has been slowly declining, so I cannot afford the raising prices of such objects. I also have to drive quite a bit just to get to work. In other words...I'm broke!!

I know many of you are in the same boat as I, so one day perhaps a support group will form for sufferers of this local gas "shortage".

Perhaps I just need to get yet another J.O.B. until I can come to terms with this massive inflation! UGH!! Don't I work enough as it is? I mean I really have almost no social life outside of this site as it is! *sigh*

As it stands, I have cut my karaoke down to just Saturdays and that's when I run the durned thing! When does this gurl ever get to have a little fun?? Not anytime soon, I'll tell ya that much!

Just some more angry ramblings from...

ST

Cabo, during times like these, even having a Sunfire has its downfalls!!! I really should have that tune-up and oil change done to ease up on the gas consumption! Regular maintenance is essential you know!

Checking it out now!

Thang~

Welcum back! Didn't expect to see ya this weekend.

Don't feel too bad- $3.16/gallon is the absolutely BEST price I've seen here in NH, average seems to be in the 3.40s and 50s. I probably shouldn't've put that 400 miles on my car shopping for good fuel prices, tho...

btw- don't forget your tires! Underinflation can really tank your fuel economy. If you're driving short distances, all on well maintained roads, slightly over full and harder is worlds better than soft... so true on so many levels!

Tune Up- definitely! Oil change- only if she's due, that won't do much for economy, and being how things're kinda tight right now, if it can wait, let it. (Course, this is the perspective of a man who does all that greasy work himself. Chances are it would cost more to make 2 separate appointments for the car... so, never mind...!)

.

Been a while since they last let me out into polite society. Resurfacing, catching a breath, & catching up.

And while I got my Broad-Brimmed Pimping Hat on, could I cajole all of y'all to Comment on, Alone In A Cloud? It's probably the best thing that I've written!

Lately...

Mister, the trip to Memphis got cancelled due to the relief efforts the city has extended to the hurricane victims. The city has thousands of Louisianna refugees and will not have room for Idol contestants, so I will be home all weekend *sigh*

It's always hard when prices suddenly rise. Unless your salary has a good buffer in it, it can mean making difficult choices - I'm there myself right now, ma'am.

Would it give you any comfort to learn that gas prices over here were over $7 (US Dollars) a gallon before Katrina did her stuff? Prices were already under pressure from general fears of shortages and Katrina is expected to affect us too.

$10 a gallon anyone? I'm not ruling it out

I don't have a lot to work with, but I'll stop by one day and let you cut my hair. Just to help the local economy.
God played the same joke on me that he played on Gallager. "Now you have hair... now you don't."
But, I don't mind. There are so few that have hung around, I named them all. There's Bill, Sam, Joe, Les, Tom, Susan,(I'm in touch with my feminine side !???! LOL, and Bart. Yep, that about names them all. So it won't take long. But I do love having a shampoo. It's so relaxing. Just tell me where. Then off to the bar.
Gas prices should drop back down some this week. Gas line out of gulf is operating at about 80%... though who knows where it will settle.

Unlisted, I don't think that, if they go down at all, it won't be by much. I think it will probably remain around $3.00 a gallon or more for a while. I believe that this will force us all into conserving fuel for a while...and that's not necessarily bad.

Just another ranting day...
