Cartoons...for adults?

Ever been channel surfing late at night and stumbled on the Cartoon Network? It seems after 11pm this channel shows cartoons that are a little too heavy for the younger viewers. They may contain mild swearing and quite a bit of violence, so they can't show them any other time. There is a lot of anime shows on the lineup.

My favorite of these is Inuyasha Right after that I watch Full Metal Alchemist and Cowboy Bebop....I could watch that stuff all night...

Anyway, are there any more adult swim fans out there? How about anime fans? What are YOUR faves?

These 5AM blogs are going to kill me...

luke, if you miss some of the shows you used to watch, a certain electronics store with the initials of BB carries the DVD's of most of the old seasons!

Just in case you wanted to know

I never miss Adult Swim! It's nearly the only TV that I really watch regularly... I happen to have all of Cowboy Bebop on dvd. The anime is great, to be sure, but I'm hooked on Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Harvey Birdman and Robot Chicken as well! About the only show I don't care for is Tom Goes to the Mayor. It can be funny but it's really just not appealing to the eyes to watch. Not unlike Aeon Flux or Reign the Conqueror, great stories and concepts, but very unattractive visually. And I think we all here can appreciate a certain need for visual appeal!

Thanks ST

My local BB slection wasn't that great so I had given up an Anime except for features. They were always missing episodes of the series anime which was too annoying. I started going to Visart lately and I noticed they had a better selection of anime so maybe I'll start watching them again.

crashtrtle, I agree wholeheartedly!! Tom Goes To The Mayor has GOT to be the worst show on there!! I too enjoy ATHF, but sometimes Master Shake's voice just gets on my nerves...good show tho!!
LOVE Harvey Birdman, but still not sure what to think of Robot Chicken...it is kinda growing on me though.
I also enjoy Lupin the Third and Case Closed, even though the idea of becoming a child again through poisoning is kinda weak.
Ah hell, I like almost anything AS puts on there...OHOHOH And Venture Bros.!!! That one is freaking HILARIOUS!! Like I said I could watch that stuff all night...and go on about it too!!!

Enjoy your Chicken!!

ST,

perhaps I need to go back and have another look ...
much as I love anime, what I have seen on TV has been
rather lame ... if only they could include the likes
of Vampire Hunter D, Ghost in the shell, or even a
more mundane Angel Cop series ... still superior
to what I have seen ... then i would make this a
regular part of my program viewing ...

in the mean time I will continue reading your blog

cheers

Big Adult Swim fan, don't care for the anime much.

Favs include Robot Chicken (is Seth Green the hardest working guy in Hollywood?), Family Guy & Space Ghost. I've been watching Space Ghost for years... mostly for Zorak and Brak. Favorite episode was when they had the Ramones on, it was Joey's birthday, and Zorak eats the cake.

Ever watch RC with Tivo? The end credits go by too fast to see this, but if you Tivo and go slow, you can see that they brutally haze Sarah Michelle Gellar & Mila Kunis in each episode. One episode Sarah was credited with "janitor," another had Mila credited with "Hot Boobs," and Sarah got, "Hot Ass."

Voodoo, can't say that I have...no Tivo here but I will tape it on my dinosaur equipment we call a VCR (Video Cassette Recorder) and do a frame-by-frame next time I see it on! More details later...
Brak Show is great, and I like Space Ghost too...but I really do like the anime!

Thanks for stoppin in!!
