Burlesque Blogging

Well, I've come to the conclusion that writing a blog is essentially the same as doing burlesque.

You taunt, tease, and stroke the imagination. I know what I'm doing, and you enjoy knowing that I do.

I tease with just a light hint of innocence, all the while, huge fans of feathers held just so, protect my most sacred and private parts, with just tantalizing flashes.

Glimpses that cause a salivation sensation that pools in the mouth before being hastily swallowed away. Dizzying desire that clouds the mind with desperate longing. This is the dancer's vocation - to inspire desire.

What is the blogger's vocation? For each, it ends up being a different mission. For some, we are brought to tears with laughter and admiration for the lunacy inherent in their brilliance. Others still bring tears by the haunting beauty of their longing for depth and beauty.

Mine is to remember beauty and wonder...

And do the burlesque blogging tease...

Thank you evah so much darlin Gem. You are too kind sir, as always.

Akadafa, I like the metaphor of blogs being as unique and individual as snowflakes. Thank you...

Just hope my blog doesn't have a meltdown.

Sally Rand's fan dance was quite enticing! Cable had a documentary about burlesque called "Pretty Things" which was quite good! Lets keep bumping and grinding!

Red, the outward jut of a hip and quick swing to the other side of bumping and grinding gives a focus to the central beauty of a woman.

Blogging can do the same for the soul.

Bump!
