A rainy night...

The first thing i noticed was that my car was sounding funny. The second thing I noticed is that the little raindrops hitting my windshield were getting fatter and landing more often. Soon I couldn't see where my headlights were pointing. Just at that moment my steering wheel jerked and I heard the unmistakable thud, thud thud of a flat tire.
The road was deserted. I'd been driving on it for almost thirty minutes and had not seen another vehicle. Thank goodness my dad had made sure I knew how to change tires and do other minor maintence on my car.
Resigned to my fate, I pulled my long hair up into a bun and got out into the rain to go to work changing the tire.
I opened the hatch on the back of the SUV and got out the jack. I lowered the spare and removed it from under the truck, jacked up the car and changed my tire.
By the time I was putting the spare into the back, I was soaked to the bone but feeling good. After all, not every gal will jump out into the rain to change her tire when she carries a cell phone.
A car's headlights broke through the darkness and as the car slowed to a stop behind me, I was unable to see the driver.
more to come....hee hee
