I'm very new to this. I've been up since 3:00 am. I work a 4. I am a big movie person. My grandmother's cable was cancelled, so I brought out all my movies. I told her she wouldn't like any of my movies, but that I had a lot of good ones. She said she would try to watch them. We watched Punch-Drunk Love. I had Brazil in a pile for her not to see. But she decided to venture it. She made me shut it off halfway through. She turns to me and says you like this kind of thing. At the end she said "It was different." We then watched Donnie Darko. At the end she said "It was different." We then watched Secretary. I told my brother everyone should see Secretary. He said when they're ready. After watching Secretary, my grandmother said that all my movies were depressing. She asked me if I've spoken to my doctor about the kinds of movies I watch.

I'm not surprised about your grandmother's reaction.

I had one grandmother who wouldn't have got even halfway through those films. She wouldn't even watch wildlife documentaries (or let her grandchildren watch them for that matter) because she'd seen one where the animals were "doing dirty things"

It's always worth a re-watch.

Hows about Dark City?
