So here it begins.
So here it begins.
I graduated college a year ago and was workin in NY doin nothing special just working a job I didn't love but didn't hate. But then I got an offer here in the Chicago suburbs with a major company makin major bucks with my dream job for a title. So I left my family and friends behind. went to michigan to train and showed up in Illinois. Now i've been to illinois and the windy city before but never really enjoyed it long story, but I'm an optimist and lookin to give it a fair chance.
I'm just lookin to make new friends, and if there are benefits. then thats cool otherwise, just some cool people would be a start. alot more interesting people here than the married white men I work with. I'm tired of hearing about their kids and bitching wives!
Well, I've been here for only a week. Seems like a really cool place, but as of yet all I can see is the differences.
Things you will never see in the burbs of NYC or NYC:
A deer running across the street. yep thats right, yesterday while driving home from work, I saw a deer. Like a stupid tourist I slowed down and yelled to only myself in the car HOLY CRAP A DEER! Now I've seen deer before, but never crossin the street. the people behind me weren't to happy for my slowing down to watch as the deer took a breather on the side of the road after his mad dash.
Instructions on how to avoid rabid racoons. If you see a lone racoon during the day it may be rabid. so stay away. I was reading in some guide they had in the hotel I was staying at, it was bassically saying racoons are nocturnal and travel in packs. the one's out during the day light alone usually have something wrong with them.
A hawk almost getting blown into my windshield due to the crazy wind! WTF??? Nov 13th I even remember the day, the wind was so friggin crazy I was drivin on I90 and this poor bird was tryin to just fly around and find a squirel or something to eat. but it wound up almost eating pavement!
Black squirels.... nuff said. (and I don't think someone painted this thing)

(welcome to Chicago Land...you might find some fun in the Chicagoland Chat room, and there are a LOT of meet n greets here)|
Hi, welcome to blog!
Are you aware there is a new group created for bloggers and their readership to meet and frolic in the chat room? (A place for serious discussion as well)
A group where interesting blog posts will be “spot-lighted” along with the links of how to get there. A place where new kids on the block can actually get seen as well as the predominant “hierarchy”.
A place where ideas can flow--from suggested blog topics, to writing "critiques", to directions on how to better use the elements of color, photos, and font style/size to make your blog more eye appealing; as well as instructions on how to better use linking to other posts.
Being that this is an adult site, we will also have a group post running where writers and their followers can indicate where they're from so maybe you might actually be able to meet some folk "local" to you.
Flirtatious banter is encouraged--crude obscene assaults will not be tolerated and are subject to deletion.
So...Stop in and have a little fun over your cup o' joe!
Here is a link to the group Blog Cafe, look forward to meeting you there!
