my rant

I wrote this in reply to anothers post in ther blog. He was a dyslexic also so this was ment as support. I wanted to put it up here becous I am a dyslexic and it is a subject very close to my heart.

Those who do not have dyslexia don't really under stand what it is to try to communicate with the written word when you have. Although it effects people in different ways there are a group of symptoms that can apply. The first being a higher than average IQ. Einstein, Edison, And John F Kennedy are just a few dyslexics that are known to most people. For me my two greatest problem areas are Left Right confusion, always double check my directions who knows where I will send you. The other Is spelling, spelling rules make no since to me. Because of this it takes my to or three times longer to write something then it does the average person. Or when I'm in a chat room I get things like "how old are you" meaning you spell like a child, or "what do you know you cant even spell." There are a number of other thing than show up that are less troublesome, but these two are the ones that effect my every day life. Dyslexia is not really a handicap it is just made so by society. It is a learning difference the dyslexic mind learn through different passages and processes the material in a different way. If a person can spell and right fluently then they are smart it doesn't matter if they can't understand how there car or TV works. But some one who can design and build and repair cars TVs and other things is dumb if the have trouble righting and spelling........ sorry about the rant.

note there were 27 misspelled words in this before I ran the spell checker. Thats good for me and at 54 I'm not lickly to get much better.... here stop that quit ranting.

Mac we dyslexics have to stick together. Most everyone in my family is dyslexic to some degree. After fighting the local school system on behalf of my son it has become a pet rant for me. and I'm always ready to whip out my soap box in this subject.

note: There were three misspilled words in this before I ran the spell checker.
