WELL KILO THE EVIL DOG IS MINE

I hope I haven't made a mistake but I just went and got Kilo,I can't bring him in the house so for right now he's living in the garage.
Kilo's full blooded German Shepherd,He's about sixty pounds right now and still growin'.He's got paws like a Clydesdale, and teeth like a shark! I just had to pry him off my face,he's a bit skittish right now! It's probably the sudden change and he's just scared, but I'm not going back in that garage tonight!
Anyways, I got him,and now he's not going to the pound, and the cats are safe with him in there. But I do have to get to the car tomorrow somehow without losing anymore blood!

I was hoping you'd save Kilo. Above all ..do not let him get away with biting you any more. It will set a bad precident.

Thanx Buttery, The old owner told me exactly how to handle that but it's kinda out of my nature, what would you suggest to let him know it wasn't alright to bite?

well..spunky since you have already given Kilo away this won't be of much help. But, with my german shepherd/lab i bought a handheld unit at Pet Smart called a "Remote Ultra Sonic Pet Trainer". When the button is pressed a high pitched tone is immited that only the dog can hear. My dog flinches when he hears it and stops what he is doing. It works from up to 6 feet away. You would have had to turn it on and press it when you got close to Kilo and you saw he was going to bite you. My dog has only bitten me once and i held the button down till he whimpered and quit biting me. The whole time i was saying NO! BAD DOG! NO!

Anway..it worked for me and was only $39.99

Hi Spunky,

I agre with newyank50 and strongelk2006 never show or FEEL FEAR I have worked with a lot of dog's, I like to start when they are pup's but you don't have a choice here but it can still be done. I am training a 3/4 timber wolf 1/4 malamut but you MUST BE THE ALPHA MALE but don't do it out of fear on the dog's side.

Or in the morning just tie a pork chop around your neck and run around the car till he is tired LMAO.

Lets see, Kilo is in the garage, your car is in the garage, ( better call a taxi tomorrow)

Aww... I'm so glad you decided to save him.
With my dog and cats, I kept a baby gate up between them
until he got used to seeing the kitties. Then one day with
treats to distract him, one of the braver kitties came out
and he paid no attention because of the treats. Once he had
his last treat he went over and permanently stuck his nose
up Max's butt.
They are now the bestest of buds. The cat just rubs all over him
and he just gives Max a look like he's bored.
LOL
I'm sure it will work out. Just got to aclimate them all to
each other.

Hay Bro,,I have some advice for you about your dog Kilo. First you have to go and sit infront of Kilo,,and just stare at him,,don't show any fear. Just keep staring at him,,let him bark at you,,listen to the he's bark is. When you start hearing he's bark change to a winey bark,,you need to,,in a ferm voice make a comand for him to stop barking over and over,, you are meaner them the dog. This will start you out as the alpha male. He will learn that you are the boss. You can stand and look at him through the door,,,if the door has a glass window. After he stops barking you take in his food,,set it down by your foot and stand there ,,don't show any fear. You are going to let him know you are in control,,and he's going to learn you are the boss. Dogs look at body language more than hearing your voice. Try that Bro,,,

Peace,,,,,,,,,,,,,Coolness.............N.B.

Good luck with that huge dog, Spunky!! I'm so happy, I'm getting a new kitten today!! Hope my cat at home likes her...lol. Got any tips on helping cat "strangers" become friends?

spunky11961 replies on 9/1/2006 3:09 pm:
Well Hello and Thanx! Yes I do, introduce them and if need be keep them seperated when you aren't around them, like shuting the new one safely in a room or something.... with time they will either bond or just become tolerant, the first few days are the worst if they are even that! Sometimes it just happens within a days time! Good luck with that, and let me know how it works out!~

Love and patience are all I can suggest, Jeff. Shepherds are super intelligent, but purebreds can be highly strung. They require a lot of attention because of their quick minds. I used to train them a couple of decades ago. Good luck with K-Dog. Once he trusts you, you'll never have a better friend.
