A TRIBUTE TO THE FALLEN..............

Instead of glorifyin' the fourth of July as so many do I'd rather go a different road here.....
It isn't a reflection on my beliefs or of Mr Bushes war,But It is a tribute to those who have fallen fighting in all wars! I chose to do this in red as it is symbolic of all that was shed,by the many in all the bloody wars combined!
today as you celebrate the holiday, take a moment to pause and remember all those who fought, those who were wounded and those that Never came home! Those that were killed and the many still missing in action!
These are the men AND the WOMEN who fought and died so you could enjoy your freedom! But also remember those that today,on the Fourth of July, are fighting and dieing as you read this!
Today some soldiers just might die as you celebrate the day...Remember their Families!...
And This will be a tribute to those who served In my family.....
The first that I know of was my Grandfather,He fought in WWI as a Marine...One of the lucky few to return from there!
The second was my Grand ma,His wife,She was a LT.In the army nursing Corp.s She contracted TB while servin' in field hospitals,She died of this just after she gave birth to my dad..The army denied her all benefits, including the funeral rites!
The third were my Three older cousins,That served as Marines in the Pacific,One fell on the Battan Death March,Another at Iwo Jima,The other survived....But he served well and was also wounded!
The fourth was My dad's older brother,And He was in the first group sent to Korea,Served his tour wounded twice and still lives today!
The Fifth was my father who was in Germany Till his brother was sent home then he to served in Korea,Was wounded once but later denied be
nifits as his file was lost...Thanx for servin' sorry 'bout your luck!
The Last Was Mom's little brother He served with honors through most of Viet Nam,And is lucky to be alive,He recieved Three bronze stars and four actually earned purple hearts among numerous others Including John F Kennedy's Presidential citation....He is totally disilussioned about"that war' But he earned the right to that opinion,Cause he served with distinction and gave his own blood! As did the others of my family who also thought much the same way.....Even the one's that felt that before went on to serve with distinction!....
There are no Kerry's or Bush's In our clan!
there are many more that I didn't list and more in older wars to!
But just remember as you celebrate that these freedom's come hard won with a very dear price!
And remember the ones who are right now fightin' and maybe dyin' In this latest war,for you and Me! No matter your opinion of the war!

I could not agree more this day belongs to the soldiers who gave their lives for our freedom...but the real question is..are we really free?

America: Freedom to Fascism....look it up and check it out..its a movie coming out this month...its very intersting.

Happy 4th!

Haven't read your blog yet -busy day - but I'll be back. Just wanted to let you know that I left a nice note on Juicy's blog (the one you asked me to read). The story about her daughter in the museum wasdefinitely worth my time - even on a bus day (that sounds pompus but you know what I mean). It had me laughing.

Very well written Spunky! If it wasn't for those that have fallen in war or the ones that are fighting for us now, we wouldn't be here today and be able to celebrate the independence of this country!
