Fall is here and Halloween is near.I've already seen more than a few halloween posts about the memories and the pranks. I've got a couple to share, I'll leave a real dog of one here... When I lost the farm and moved into town, I had a white collie named King. King was a very friendly dog, everybody loved him.I kept him in a harness, the only way I could keep him on a chain. He was used to having the run of the farm and wasn't much for collars. Being a collie,he'd just turn around and pull,the collar would slip right off his pointed head. Halloween came around and that night King up and disappeared,someone had cut the fastener on his harness and took him. Seems they thought it'd be a good prank to take him and leave him on a city bus. Now King loved to go for rides, he rode in the combine with me all the time~ he rode that bus all night long and in the morning the driver noticed a big white dog with a harness sitting in the back of the bus. Thinking it was someone's seeing eye dog that had been left behind he called the cops.Finding my name and number on his tags, they called me up and said they'd bring him right over to me.A Judge at the courthouse saw him and decide to bring him to me himself, he had a white collie too! The Judge knew I wasn't blind, but thought it was funny being a Halloween prank and all.King had an adventure, the little shits got their kicks and I didn't get fined! I'm stuck working inside and it's a beautiful fall day out! It's gonna be 83 degrees here and I just wanna play around outside for the rest of the day! Help! I don't wanna go back but I've used every excuse I know of at least twice already...except maybe "The cat ate my stash and I gotta take him to the vet"! I'm thinking that might not be such a good idea there....I'm stuck and need a new excuse, Anyone got a good one I could use? What excuses have you used?

My boss has been on my ass to quit smoking for a long time now and they know I won't, they've tried to ban me from smoking at work... that didn't work very well! But now a big plant just south of here has taken the smoking ban way to far! Scotts Lawn has banned all it's workers from tobacco in any form... not just at work but in their personal lives as well. If you work there ya can't even have an occasional smoke,chew or what have you. They plan on mandatory drug tests and if ya fail it's smoking rehab for ya there! Second strike you're out on your ass. This I feel is going way to far and violates everyones rights there! No employer should be able to run your personal life! What will it be next? Alcohol, Caffiene? Now I've got my boss thinking the same thing again....I'll quit sure! MY JOB! Even if ya don't smoke How do You feel about this? Would You let your employer tell ya what ya could or couldn't do after work? Anything ya want to add,good or bad pro or con, No one gets their head bit off here! ~spunky
Ever since fall has started, I have to clean out all the Walnuts a crazy little squirrel has stashed in my mailbox the day before. As soon as I get it emptied out, he starts to fill it up again! I've got Walnuts everywhere, on the window sill,stuffed in the patio furniture,even piled in the corners on the front porch.... I've got walnuts coming out my ass here...Yet there isn't a walnut tree to be found for blocks around... He seems to find them anyways and for some reason doesn't want to bury them. Just like the Squirrel from the movie Ice Age, He never seems to have enough! I've had other strange critters around,A Rabbit that runs laps around the garage till it gets dizzy and hits a wall, An Opposum, that grew up with the stray cats I feed, who thought it was a cat... Just to name a few! Have ya got any strange wildlife stories? Anything strange your pets do? Anything about pets or animals ya care to share? When I was growing up there were a lot of good shows on TV. Sitcoms and westerns,comedys and varity shows. I watched The Beatles when they appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show, I grew up with Maybeery RFD and Leave it to Beaver. There was Bonanza, Wild Wild West and Gun Smoke too. For comedy there was Green Acres,Beverly HillBillies and Bob Newhart just to name a few. My favorite back then was a toss up between Hogan's Heroes and one called Rat Patrol (anyone remeber that one?) Later on as I got older I liked Saturday Night Live and The Bob Newhart Show with Larry Daryl and Daryl.... remember them? Now I haven't had my tv on in a long time but when I do I watch shows like CSI, lost, the 4400 and Grey's Anatomy. Maybe it was the beer, Maybe it was the smoke,Maybe I should've known better... But I went ahead and did it anyways...You'd think I'd have learned by now... I was just trying to get my Y hoo back, I lost it trying to get out of this mess the last time through, but those offers in the pop ups caught my attention again... The 3-D screen saver,"Lightning Storm" was really Kool and it was free... That's where I should've stopped, but I didn't... Now my desktop is full of weird new icons,My computer's slower than a slug stuck in molasses and I got butt load of emails that slipped past the filter... and of course neither the y hooo or the screen saver ever installed. So now I get to spend the day un installing everything once again! What's the dumbest thing You've done on the computer? What's the dumbest thing You've done Toasted, Half Baked or Fried? Anyone know a quick way to get rid of all this?

It doesn't take much to brighten my day,A walk in the woods,a smile or some kind words from a stranger, or my two cats waiting in the window for me to get home.Sometimes it's just something as simple as getting an unexpected day off. It's raining here so I've got that unexpected day,no work,no pressure,just a day to relax for a change. It really doesn't take much to make me happy or just brighten my day, It's the little things in life that matter most to me~ Anyone know a good rain dance? I'd kinda like to have friday off too!
