Reality strikes...and bites...$$$

I was restless this afternoon...didn't feel like doing anymore purging or work or even just being lazy and watching the tube or reading. Sooooo, I decided to head out to the mall, or more specifically, to the electronics store, to begin to figure out just how much money I was going to need for electronic equipment. Y'know..TV, music..that stuff. I got a great TV/home theatre geek at Best Buy. Young guy but really knowledgeable!! I told him what I needed to do, that I wasn't buying today and he went through several systems and we finally kinda decided on a Sony system. A small home theatre/DVD system and a not-so-small TV..flat screen LCD HDTV. I've gotten so spoiled with the little Philips flat screen hubby and I bought "for ourselves" for Christmas a couple of years ago, I decided I was going to treat myself to a good TV and sound system. The home theatre has a 5-disc CD/DVD changer, and just a few speakers...one in the middle...two "towers" and 2 small ones for the other side of the room. (Can't wait to hear Rachmaninov's 2nd Piano Concerto on this system!!) It'll be nice to have my own stuff. That's one of the things I've never picked out all for me...it's always been hand-me-downs and/or someone else's decision. Not that there's anything at all wrong with hand-me-downs, but this is fun!! As much as I'd like to give my business to the young man who helped me so willingly, if I make the purchase at that store, it's gonna be at one of the NH stores. The sales tax will kill me!!!

I looked at small microwave ovens and small toaster ovens as well. That's really all I need in the kitchen except for a good set of sharp knives. I'm leaving the ones we have. They were wedding gifts from good friends of his and he can have them. Considering that most of the kitchen is going with me, since I came in with the better part of it...he can have the knives!!! lol

Then I went over to Pier 1 and wandered a bit. I have to buy some chairs for my dining room table. Maybe I'll haunt some yard sales next weekend. I"ve finally shifted my Saturday morning students to Friday morning. It's been years since I had a weekend day off that I didn't have to arrange to have off!! Guess I'll have to pick up a local paper this week..check out where the yard sales are. What fun!!!

yeah ohboy...Bose rocks...that's what I'm leaving behind. But I definitely can't afford Bose!! Sony is a close second and will do just fine! And I can wait for the yard! Maybe in two or three years., when I can get my very own place. I'll have a yard!!

Ah Song! You don't need any yards in an apartment! He he he he! Also good to see the priorities are right. Music is the food for the soul. And aren't the new electronics just wonderful. Incredible speakers slightly smaller than a pack of cigarettes. Go Bose!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck and Best Wishes.
