Catharsis

I've been continuing preparations to vacate this condo as the end of my 15 year marriage draws closer. I came across some cards from a number of family and friends that I'd received for my 50th birthday, Christmas, Valentine's Day, etc. It struck me once again how many pleasant memories can pop up from just re-reading the cards. It also struck me how carefully a number of those cards were chosen. I had to write that person to thank him. I'm glad I did. Although that relationship ended back in April, it was a pretty pleasant interlude. I was pleased to receive a return email from him‒chatty, catching up‒very nice. *S* All-in-all a very pleasant journey down memory lane from my little cleanup.

I also came across some "things" that I don't really need or wish to keep for myself. I think I'll venture into the world of Ebay and try to get rid of them there. Perhaps someone will find some of my pretty things appealing enough to give me money for them. I hope so.

If you are strong and push through the pain and the fear, you often find that happiness is waiting for you on the other side.

ohboy, your verse always brings a smile to my face and an occasional tear to my eye. Thank you my friend. I wish there were more words, but that's all I can think to say. *S*

New beginnings are oh so much fun
They take us out in the warm bright sun
Warming and healing our tired battered souls
Then it is easy to handle the task at hand
And that is to begin our lives here anew
Forgetting past problems like shifting sand
Keeping focused on what is your new goal
To live happy and healthy among this strange crew
That has supported and nurtured you all through
The days and months any years of your growth
Into the wonderful person we have all come to love.

Song,

Not asking for your plans here in public, but you moved a long way to get to the coast, I do hope you get to remain in some cozy little seaside town. Maybe even get a slightly bigger place?

I have several former lovers of whom I can reflect back very fondly, and some, sadly, of whom least said soonest mended. I treasure the former, and try to stay in touch with as many as possible (helps to be able to email, and not be hospitalized with pnemonia).

xoxo

sex4fun, I love my little seaside town, but I don't particularly care about this condo: I never have. If it had been redone 10 years ago, then it would be a showcase now, but as it stands, it's shabby and in need of a complete, strip it to the studs, rehab. So, my husband may have it back, I don't want it. I only want to move on and start my new life.

As to the former lover to which I referred, the memories are very pleasant. It WAS good while it lasted and for that I am grateful.

Song,

Sorry to hear you are moving out, I know you liked that location; of course, the memories associated with it probably swing both ways, and for your sanity it may be better to move on physically as well as emotionally and (I suspect) financially.

Yes, a good former lover is a wonderful part of each history, sad that they can not all continue forever (as long as they remain good), but then, if they did, well, there would be no room for new experiences. So, treasure the good memories, savor them, and keep a few items that help you to remember them. Toss the rest.

I work the Channel Two Auction every June, and as they say there but you may borrow for your itemsd on Ebay, "Bid high, and bid often".

xoxo
