The Religious Mystery of Sex

Violence, Death, War, and the hereafter. So much has been said about violence, religion and the afterlife. Wars have been fought, thousands of young men urged on by old men are killed on the field of battle, children orphaned, evangelists quote God on television, muslims killing Christians, Christians killing Jews, Jews killing Muslims. For the Christian absolution from your sins. For the Muslim 25 black eyed virgins await the suicide bomber. Pure fucking madness all in the name of religion!

War and death is glorified, but to some sex is dirty, repugnant, nasty, not to be talked about, taught in schools, not practiced until marriage, only for procreation, passions are subdued, lust is supressed, and rules are imposed upon us with regard to what is right and wrong when engaged in REAL sex. Slap an adult only rating on a movie that shows full frontal nudity, but give Arnold a machine gun and allow him to kill with abondon. Muslims dress their women in burkas, and Christians ban nudist beaches, anal sex, and oral sex in some states.

Does any of it make sense?

While in Amsterdam I witnessed sex as an open topic where couples engaged in sex with other consensual couples, teenagers had sex using condoms, and all was seemingly normal. Violence was not tolerated, and I quickly watched a man dragged off for cussing out a storekeeper. It was all clean, proper, and yes a lot of fun.

So are Americans right and others wrong about the treatment of sex and violence? It makes you think about the logic of it all doesn't it?

Peace and love friend.

Sex is natural and violence is man made.

Sex is an open topic at home and my children know that any questions/concerns that they have will be answered truthfully and honestly.

My attitude on this subject makes many of my friends with children cringe, but while they are spoon feeding violence to their children I try to teach tolerance, acceptance and that sex is normal, natural part of being human.
