Friend Finders or Network Hoarders?

Yes, yes, oh yes! I am back again with my AdultFriendFinder blog 2.0. The second edition of my thoughts in cyberspace. Anyway, by now you've already read the title and you pretty much know where I am going with this so lets dive in shall we!
As I build my small legion of friends, and contacts, I couldn't help but notice some people have friends-a-plenty and others have astronomical numbers that have their own gravitational pull. Now don't get me wrong I am all for chatting, love, friendship, and fun. I also believe that some people have that highly personable, personality. All that I am asking is how can someone keep up with over 9,000, or so friends? I bend my mind to even undergo the task of juggling the thought of 500. Trust me, I am no stranger to multiple people and getting to know all of them at some personal level. Highschool, college, and my current job all have had very large mixed gender populations. The human brain is a wonderfully complex machine and it has virtually limitless potential for memory and conginitive skills. Realistically though that is only potential and it has yet to be fully understood, how we learn, interact, and remember. So, I humbally ask how can someone fully remember or keep up with over 1,000 friends in their network?
Me being American I can only make the comparison that we Americans are sterotipically guilty of more is more. Bigger is better! Are we at that point of having over 5,000 friends, really friend finding or network hoarders? More on that comming soon.
