I went into the European hot tub room today…. It was sort of fun. I do like that room as far as AdultFriendFinder chat rooms go. Fun watching the interaction amongst the people, the little dances that go on, the words and innuendo exchanged. As a room wallflower I seem to spend most of my time observing things, creative comments missed by busy chatters or simple things like the choices of names - some so blatantly obvious, others that are really quite clever. That’s always been one of my favourite things about chatting ‒ deciphering the names and trying to understand what makes people choose them.
Just as I was heading out of the room a 'name' came in which made me think of a little poem that I have read many times. I think I will stick it here in my blog, my little internet box of keepsakes. I keep hoping that reading words like these will rub off, like osmosis, into my own thoughts and back out through my fingertips making me better able to express myself to others.
As you set out in search of Ithaka
Pray that your journey will be long,
Full of adventures, full of awakenings.
Do not fear the monsters of old…
You will not meet them in your travels
If your thoughts are exalted and remain high,
If authentic passions stir your mind, body and spirit.
You will not encounter fearful monsters
If you do not carry them within your soul,
If your soul does not set them up in front of you.
-Constantine Peter Cavafy
I wish that for you, and me too.

Always keep Ithaca in your mind.|
To arrive there is your ultimate goal.
But do not hurry the voyage at all.
It is better to let it last for many years;
and to anchor at the island when you are old,
rich with all you have gained on the way,
not expecting that Ithaca will offer you riches.
Do you like to dance, sexy8?...

A beautiful poem and, I think, so true. So often we are our own worst enemies. How come I've never come across that before? |
I have to agree with Being_Eros too, though: if we focus on our destination, the journey there becomes a chore, a necessary evil. Take pleasure in every step of the journey too
