i give you an onion

i am just reading through the guidelines here and apparently i can't post links to other sites? i wonder why that is? i thought that is what a blog was all about - a diary of what people find out there on the world wide web and links so other people can see the gems as well. i guess i will need another blog to do that, a 'real' one in the world outside of AdultFriendFinder.

it was interesting reading some of the other blogs here on the AdultFriendFinder site. there is some really good content out there but it all seems to be quite a tight knit group amongst the 'elite' bloggers. they all seem to post on each others sites and you seem the same names and photos in the categories of most popular bloggers.

i read a really good discussion thread about kissing, i wish i had noted where it was now but it made me think about kissing. there is nothing quite like a kiss with the right person. it also made me think of that onion poem by carol ann duffy which i love..

valentine

not a red rose or a satin heart.

i give you an onion.
it is a moon wrapped in brown paper.
it promises light
like the careful undressing of love.

here.
it will blind you with tears
like a lover.
it will make your reflection
a wobbling photo of grief.

i am trying to be truthful.

not a cute card or a kissogram.

i give you an onion.
its fierce kiss will stay on your lips,
possessive and faithful
as we are,
for as long as we are.

take it.
its platinum loops shrink to a wedding ring,
if you like.
lethal.
its scent will cling to your fingers,
cling to your knife.

****

i love that line about the fierce kiss.

An Onion has many layers, people that do are usually the most interesting ones of all.

I liked it, shame it's too late for this years V day. Slightly dark, maybe a soupcon of sarcasm but a surefire receipe for a smile.

If it puts a smile on your face it's good and should be done again I say.

Keep up the good work.
