a lesson learned

when i started this thing i really and truly didn't think anyone would read it. i actually thought it would be a good place to leave a few personal thoughts that i could hide away somewhere and come back to read when i wanted. i have found from doing this though that i think it helps me to understand myself in a different way by seeing my thoughts in print. i guess what i didn't expect to come from this was learning. so sorry if you are reading this and you find my words make no sense. just hope that do to me somehow.

there is so much i want to do, to experience, to improve about myself and at the same time i don't want to lose who i am. how can i be scared of myself? it's a very odd feeling, drowning in a desert of ones own thoughts.

the call

from our low seat beside the fire
where we have dozed and dreamed and watched the glow
or raked the ashes, stopping so
we scarcely saw the sun or rain
above, or looked much higher
than this same quiet red or burned-out fire.
to-night we heard a call
a rattle on the window-pane,
a voice on the sharp air,
and felt a breath stirring our hair,
a flame within us: something swift and tall
swept in and out and that was all.
was it a bright or a dark angel? who can know?
it left no mark upon the snow,
but suddenly it snapped the chain
unbarred, flung wide the door
which will not shut again;
and so we cannot sit here any more.
we must arise and go;
the world is cold without
and dark and hedged about
with mystery and enmity and doubt,
but we must go
though yet we do not know
who called, or what marks we shall leave upon the snow.

Nothing from which we can learn is valueless and, I am told, we can learn from anything

no comment.. cute

i like that attitude quiet guy. i also tend to think we can learn something too from most things if we open our eyes, our ears, our minds and our hearts. some of the most valuable lessons i have learned have come from the most unexpected places.

and gbc - thanks, that was really sweet.

Slightly... a visit to your blog is always thought-provoking. And I like your taste in music... Robert is an up-and-coming Norwegian singer, and I was lucky to see him perform Got None... one of my current favourite songs.

Take care and be prepared to see me back here... you are on My Watched Blogs after all!!

Hx

Love, hugs and kisses from ♥♥HH♥♥
