Were You Waiting for Me??

Just a little dream I had...

I am at a bar (why is it always at a bar?? can't it be another place?? why not the beach??)...

Okay I got sidetracked there, so let me start over. In the dream I was at a bar. I ordered my first beer and went to look at the karaoke book to find a song to sing. An old flame is there and he's talking to me like he wants me back.

This is an old flame that would never give me his heart though he had mine completely wrapped around his finger at the time. He grabs me and whirls me around the dance floor. We are actually having fun and I'm thinking "Wow, maybe we CAN be friends after all that..."

Then he brings up the "R" word...says he's ready to persue a "relationship" with me! I stood there looking at him for an eternity it seems...

I simply tell him "I'm sorry, but it's too late for that now." Continuing with "You had a chance to have me and you chewed it up and spit it out like it was poison..."

The rest is a little blurry, but that's the juicy stuff anyway....

Now I'm thinking of a poem about dreams and I can't recall exactly how it went...such a great poem though!!

Hmmm...To sleep, perchance to dream...

Happy Blogging!!

S Cubed~

Wowzers! What an empowering dream!

While not quite so satisfying as unloading in their face, it does show how truly over it you are!

Particularly like the Last Dance allusion.

(Curious: Any particular impact for you when I point out the Lost Chance / Last Dance rhyming correlation..?)

Be seeing you in my Dreams...

.

Been a while since they last let me out into polite society. Resurfacing, catching a breath, & catching up.

And while I got my Broad-Brimmed Pimping Hat on, could I cajole all of y'all to Comment on, Alone In A Cloud? It's probably the best thing that I've written!

Lately...

That’s Hamlet Beautiful

you know I would know that … Hamlet is actually my favorite of Will’s plays

"To Sleep, Perchance to Dream; ay, There's the Rub." -Shakespeare's "Hamlet" - Act III, Scene 1, Lines 65-68. (I of course looked up the quote location)

A very fitting quote for you since you seem to be a bit of an insomniac.

The quote takes on a broader meaning in context

“To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause: there's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life;
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of despised love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office and the spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscover'd country from whose bourn
No traveller returns, puzzles the will
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all;
And thus the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought,
And enterprises of great pith and moment
With this regard their currents turn awry,
And lose the name of action. - Soft you now!
The fair Ophelia! Nymph, in thy orisons
Be all my sins remember'd.”

Here’s some quotes I like about dreams

“If there were dreams to sell,
Merry and sad to tell,
And the crier rung his bell,
What would you buy?”
~Thomas Lovell Deddoes~

"Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams."
~W. B. Yeats~

also Hamlet (i changed a word though)

Good night, sweet princess,
And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

sweet dreams Smart

Luke, your education hasn't been a waste. Pretty sharp. (or did you google it? LOL... just kidding.)
SSS, if you can't find what you need in Luke's comment, you "won't" find it. He covered all the bases. (Except one or two in my blog. which I'm sure he didn't mean to leave out! Again, kidding Luke. Not famous, just simply me being me.)
Why go to the "r" if you aren't ready? Trust me, enjoy being free and YOUNG!

What's your relationship with alcohol, SSS?

Never argue with an idiot. He brings you down to his level then beats you with experience

Why are you always at a bar? I dunno, Maybe cause you work there? Why am I always at a bar? Because I'm depressive w/o a woman, and I know I can take one of these sluts home with me? Probably.
On another note, Kareoke is a great stress reliever. I sing about 3 times a week. I suggest you do it as much as possible. I've even picked up the phone at last song and serenaded my ex with sappy country songs.

I thought the Ophelia part was interesting with your love of the beach. I didn't want to suggest a comparison with you to Hamlet though. I kept the last two lines only as a last minute decision.

You have more than just your experience left Smart ... you have your future.

S³ be thankful you have dreams where you prevail. A healthy sign. I usually have dreams where there is a wall with 6 holes in it and I have to put little Kenny in one of them. On the other side is a gay guy and 5 cannibals.

i guess you mean by "50% chance of being true," the marriage failure rate

take your time in finding someone ... just look for someone who is like yourself ... i don't actually know you that well but you seem to be open and honest (except about who drew boobies on my back) ... look for openness and honesty in someone and then make sure they have any other qualities you're are looking for ... of course it's always easier said then done ... and you're getting relationship advice from someone who is wary of love and has never been married ... good luck with all that

of course you might mean something completely different by 50% ... i usually only feel like i understand you about half the time ... oh well
