Why can they still comment??????

A few weeks ago I banned someone from posting comments on my blog. They kept leaving Blog throw up all over it (leaving comments that were offensive to me and WAY off topic of the post) and I was sick of cleaning it up.

I have banned 3 people in my 5 months here. All of them were because they kept delivering blog puke with their comments. My banned posters list says that I still have 3 banned, but when I open it the most recent person that I banned is not on the list and they are able to leave comments on my blog again.

Has this happened to anyone else?

-Disaster

ps. To the person that I am talking about: I don't mind if you disagree with me, but don't leave any off topic offensive comments here or I will ban you again and again until it works! Play nice and you will be welcome here......

Thankfully I haven't had the need to ban anyone as of yet. I am sorry you are still receiving this gentlemen's or ladies words. I get the feeling that I join a site that is still in the works or repairs so to speak in fixing such things.
Hopefully this person will cool off and play nice so that you don't have to keep banning.
Good Luck!!

Wouldn't it be nice if everybody could play well with others.

I'll put money on the fact that it's technical difficulties on this site. I tried to edit a post I wrote last night, and looked at it today. The changes didn't take. Maybe that's why that guy still appears.

I do my damnedest to never get banned from anyone's blog. What I do seems to work. LOL

Come into my realm! You aren't afraid...are you?

Sorry about that SD. I do, however, like the word "blog puke".
You're right, some people just don't play nice here.

I'm amused at your sudden display of discretion, having clearly stated the perpetrator's identity at the time of the banning.

Sometimes, you're just too forgiving.

Is there a separate list for banning bloggers or is it the same as the regular banned list to ban people from a profile? I'm just guessing, but maybe they can get in through your comments on other blogs or something?

LMAO Seriously, I think it's great and takes a lot more courage and willpower than most people realize to go back to school after years of being out of academia. See you soon, my hair is dying to feel your scissors..lol

I have had to ban one person four times... It's the only time I have ever banned on my blog but it was for the same reason. I don't know why they don't take sometimes.

I haven't banned anyone yet...mostly because the "puking" is relatively rare at my space, and I don't worry about it too much. I have deleted comments however.

Sexy,

I am sorry that you have had some trouble on your blog. Members should be disallowed from leaving negative and/or criticizing remarks on other members's posts. It is extremely disrespectful to say the things that you said were said to you.

I will give you plenty of respect. I will not criticize or hurt you. I will give you my support. I will be your friend (if you like). I will leave positive responses, remarks that agree with you, or if I do disagree I will say so in a positive way. I will not put you down. That serves no purpose.

I have had to ban four members myself. They left negative and/or insulting remarks on my posts. They do not deserve to be on my blog or on anyone's blog. If you want to know their names, I will give them to you here.

Jon C.

I cannot believe that after banning someone, they can again respond to your posts and be seen. That is totally wrong. You might speak to AdultFriendFinder about this. This is a form of abuse.

I agree with you that the ability to ban abusive posters is a good blog feature. However, I feel that kittenkisses24 unfairly banned me from her blog because instead of chiming along mindlessly with her opinion of some bloggers in this post [post 420481], wherein she proclaimed: "I know some of you have stumbled upon some blogs here where some bloggers have hooked up of late, and all they can blog about is each other. Hello, I just don't want to comment when that's all you're talking about. It's making me nauseaus. There are other things that you can discuss without including him or her."

I told her that I thought that she was being insensitive and fickle because of her other recent posts detailing her own philandering:

On July 1, she told us about her husband and daughter leaving for a week [post 409519], then two days later, on July 3, told us about cheating on her unknowing husband with her LTL (Long-Term Lover) [post 412417], and then on July 9 more about her heart-love for her LTL [post 420076].

And when she discovered her mistake, she deleted my post, banned me and included this in [post 420481] "i think i have been misunderstood. i am all for telling about your lovelife on your blog. i certainly tell about mine, and I certainly want you to tell about yours. this one particular person got involved with a blogger and every post is about this person. how wonderful they are. its just sappy stuff. i don't want to go to someone's blog and read the same thing everyday. i almost wish i hadn't posted this, b/c everyone has misunderstood what i meant. please keep posting what you have been posting, i love you guys. i don't have a problem with anything you have posted. i was just venting."

I merely pointed out what she later admitted to doing (in a round-about way). What she does in her blog is her business. However, instead of including me in her apology, she indirectly apologized to everyone and slammed/banned me.

I am not seeking retribution or noteriety in any way. I just think that it is important to note that blog owners can and do use the delete/ban feature to hide and/or change the history of their blog expos facto.

Have a nice day.

I agree with you that the ability to ban abusive posters is a good blog feature. However, I feel that kittenkisses24 unfairly banned me from her blog. Why? You ask. Because, instead of chiming along mindlessly with her opinion of some bloggers in this post [post 420481], in response to kittenkisses24 proclaimion that:
"I know some of you have stumbled upon some blogs here where some bloggers have hooked up of late, and all they can blog about is each other. Hello, I just don't want to comment when that's all you're talking about. It's making me nauseaus. There are other things that you can discuss without including him or her."

After reading my comment and other less strongly worded entries, and realizing her mistake, she deleted my post, banned me and then entered this into the same post [post 420481]:
"i think i have been misunderstood. i am all for telling about your lovelife on your blog. i certainly tell about mine, and I certainly want you to tell about yours. this one particular person got involved with a blogger and every post is about this person. how wonderful they are. its just sappy stuff. i don't want to go to someone's blog and read the same thing everyday. i almost wish i hadn't posted this, b/c everyone has misunderstood what i meant. please keep posting what you have been posting, i love you guys. i don't have a problem with anything you have posted. i was just venting."

Have only banned one.

Your predicament reminds me of the posts of my own that I have edited and even had them showing only to be updated later with a previous edit. That's happened with pictures too. My best guess is that the system backs itself up at certain intervals and your most recent action may have been in between backups. Or whatever "approval" process these posts and actions go through, sometimes stuff just disappears down a black hole, misses certain batches.

I use an online data crunching program at work that has similar idiosyncracies.
