Whats your take on abortion?

I saw a sign on a car today that said "Against Abortion? Ok, then don't have one". I have to day I've been torn for years over the subject but I have to agree that it should be a woman's right to decide to carry a child to full term. I don't necessarily agree with the idea of it but I do think i'm sick and tired of people telling other people what to do with their bodies.

The option should be there however its between the woman her circumstances and what she can live with.

SHould it be forced opinion on people..hell no.

While everyone is entitled to their opinion, I feel it is everyone's personal decision to make. NO ONE should ever tell another person what to do with their own body.My own opinion is that as soon as the problem arises, a woman ( or girl) has the right and responsibility to make that decision for herself.

You really know how to open up a can of worms.
I agree that it should be the choice of the woman to do what she wants with her body, to a certain degree. There are too many women that look upon abortion as a form of birth control. I'm talking about the ones that have had three or four and don't bat an eye when they sign up for the next one. I think in those cases the "three strikes" rule should apply. Have all abortion information kept in a central database somewhere and when you go in for your third you have to have your tubes tied. That might sound cold, but a lot of these same women are unemployed, underinsured and in some means or another on some form of state or federal aid, meaning we pay for it in increased taxes. In all honesty a condom or even the morning after pill is a lot cheaper and a lot easier on you than having repeat abortions.

Wow, I'm shocked to see only womens comments here! I mean, where would y'all be without us men to tell you whats good for you?lol!! Actually, this must be the common sense area of America that I've been looking for since 2000. I vote for choice, other than that, I haven't the right to say diddly... I'll never have to make that choice.(sorry 'bout the dick-pic)

Is it really about womans rights, what about the right to life, is it not the goverments main role to protect life, and as the goverment is the people (technically speaking) is it not everyones duty to protect life?

I have such a problem being honest about this because I seem to incur the wrath of women when I do ... and my opinion is not based on any religious convictions I may have ... because quite honestly ... I am not at all religious ... but ... no matter how I twist or turn it ... I still come back to the same conclusion ... abortion should not be a convenient option for women who may have "made a mistake" ... or ... "forgot to use protection" ... or ... "this is the wrong time for me to have kids" ... etc. Women may have a right to do what they want with their bodies but if life begins at conception ... then I don't believe women have the right to end the life their body is holding ... !

I agree with you. My belief is that if there is a genetic abnormality that may entail lengthy hospitalizations and concurrent surgical procedures that lead to a poor quality of life for the baby and the parents, then the option should be strongly encouraged by the mother's healthcare provider. An appropriate informed consent is always in order, but if the mother's decision is to go ahead and have the baby, then that choice must also be respected.>>>itsallfun1957

It’s a heavy decision to make but in the end only one can make it and all who love that person should support them. We have a friend who had an abortion recently, carrying the baby would have killed her and left her other children motherless.

wow....talk about feedback...thanks everyone for your comments...I have to agree that abortion should not be used as a form of birth control but I think so many people try to be judgemental when we should leave the judgement up to God and look deeper in our own closets at our own issues. I'll never forget listening to years and years of Jesse Jackson talk about family values..how we raise and teach our children only to find he had an affair with his wife a few years ago which resulted in a little girl. People are always trying to tell each other how to live our lives, what to do with our bodies when if they looked in their own back yards, i'm sure they'd find other issues that are not God-like either.

It should be the womens choice. After that, it's between her and her maker. Maybe I just don't hold life to be as precious as some. What's next, it's conseption now, next they'll be trying to save every egg and telling me I can't jask off cause i'm wasting healthy sperm. Ok, ok, there are shades of gray here, that some of us can see. I think a women should make the decision in a reasonable time frame, well before the embryo is viable. And I think, if our society was a little more open about sexuality and pregnancy, maybe a young women might be better able to sit down and make her decition, to either terminate or seek medical advice to assist her in having a healthy baby.

In my opinion, abortion is never the right choice morally speeking. However the tecnology is here, & it is not right for anyone (even the government) to forse us away from our freedom to make our oun decissions. our freedom to do as we see fit is more important than anything else in this country. Just remember, Freedom is not free, & there is a price to pay for our actions.

I think it's a woman's right to chose. It bothers me that the same people who are anti-abortion are pro-death penalty. But I believe it's a woman's right. But I know if it were my baby and she wanted to abort I would cry like a mofo.
