Shift in focus

I guess I will quit focusing so much on sexual appetite and harness that tension towards finishing my degree. Allthough I make good money now (Own my own home, truck paid for, retirement account, cash on hand, etc.) if I can bridle this and finish my degree....That is not to say that I will not continue to fantasize about all these georgeous men on this site....just will be focusing less on them.

G'Day, Say
I know there will be a number of guys on this site who will be deflated by you deciding to "focus less on them," but ya know what? They'll get over it!

Sounds like you have evaluated a few things during your time here - and have arrived at a decision point. Bravo!!

A degree can be a good thing - prestige, better earning power, a sense of accomplishment. But if I may offer a bit of unsolicited advice: All the money in the world, all the sense of self-accomplishment in the end means nothing if you have no one to share it with.

So the fantasies are still a good thing, a good "touch-stone" to the rest of your life. You may not be ready to make that leap and find someone like that - on here or somewhere else - but never let that goal get away. Never "settle" for where, or what you are now.

Remember the most empty words ever spoken on one's deathbed: "I wish I had taken the time to...................." And that applies now as you pursue acadamia - but it also applies to your inner, sensual and sexual self.

Good Luck on your journey. We'll all be pulling for you!

(And, if you feel so inclined, let us in on a bit of your fantasies - we ALL can benefit from those!!)

There is nothing wrong with having a active sexual appitite. You must take care of it too. It keeps some of the stress down. It will make getting that degree that much easier. Good luck on the degree. Education is very important!

Get your degree for yourself. Don't worry about whether it gets you more money or not, get it for the sense of accomplishment and the love of learning. No one and nothing can ever take that away from you once you have it.
