They fought for us.

The men and women of the Armed Services need us to remember them. I have always been a Patriot and my family history is full of them.

My father fought in Korea, both grandfathers fought in WWII, one great uncle died at Hickam Field when Pearl Harbor was attacted and a great great grandfather died in WWI. My family has protected the freedoms we all enjoy and all that is asked is we remember them once a year.

I now have a cousin flying C4 Galaxy Transports in and around Iraq. I may not agree with all the wars we have fought but I support all the men and women who give up their lives for us to live our lofty dreams.

My post is NOT to stir up political debate on this day of remembrance. I simply want to show in some small way that I have not forgotten the many people who provide all of us the security to live free lives.

I will never forget.

Actuall, Memorial day was started in the South after the Civil war.
Veterans Day, originally V-J daystarted after WWI (11th month, 11th hour, 1911) and is the day to commend living veterans and remember the dead. The way it has become,we now have two days to observe contributions of veterans. Sign me
