Unexpected food consistancy

I was trying to explain my food hangups to someone and this was one of the terms they were not familiar with.

Let me preface this by saying I am a very picky eater made even more accute by the fact that I have developed stomach "issues".

So these are some of the rules I eat by:

1) I tend to stay away from food made with more than 3 ingredients.

2) I do not like food to touch other food.

3) Food should feel and smell the way it looks.

4) I don't eat anything of an unusual color

5) I don't eat anything I can not immediately identify

So in explaining this I had to explain the "unexpected food consistancy" term. Imagine, if you will, eating mashed potatos. The potatos are warms as they should be. They are delicious as they should be. The are creamy as they should be. Life is good, angels are singing, and all is right in the world. Then suddenly it happens. You bite into something. It isn't a lump of potato otherwise it would be hard but smooth. Oh no my friend, it is crunchy. What could possibly be crunchy in mashed potatos? Perhaps an errant piece of brocolli? A rogue sliver of bacon? The fear of the unknown begins to rise. You sift through the potatos desperately hoping to find the source and yet terrified that the truth might be more than you can bear! Finally the stress and strain become too much and you make a hasty escape from the dinner table.

And that... is unexpected food consistancy...

In reference to #2... what exactly do you think happens once the food hits your stomach? Do you think it is tucked neatly into it's own separate compartment to be digested separately from all other food you have consumed? That quirk never made sense to me.

Do you eat processed foods? Food that comes in a box?
