The Havana Speakeasy

And where might someone find the real Hernando's Hideaway?

Inquiring minds would like to know.

>>>Folks sorry for the long delay in replying here. But I had to feel the conditions were right.

Actually, my concept of the hideaway encompasses both ideas left by saddletramp and Katey. First, it should be a place of mental comfort, where fun and pleasure abounds. And then you can add in all the details mentioned by saddletramp. But yes, when the world is getting you down it is also a place to go to get away from those stiff winds of reality. So I understand Katey’s concept and the concept of her Pakka.

And I’m sure he was referring to the song, “Hernando’s Hideaway,” which was a bit of a comic tango covered by a variety of folks. My dad had a version that I loved to hear every time it hit the turntable.

These days, I look for that hideaway where the song is playing.

R.I know a lovely little English pub(well it is in England), not so very far from me. Olde worlde, not manufactured olde worlde but honest to goodness olde worlde with uneven tile floors, small rooms, a snug and a bar and a small back room. goodness what goes on in there, it's a gentlemen-only domain, evenin in this day and age, I prefer the snug, it has a roaring coal fire in the winter...mmm...lovely and cheery to drop in, when out shopping and have a drink or two.
A very plesurable way to while away a few hours while the frozen veg you bought while shopping and which you promptly forget about, starts to defrost. Well? the fire and the ambiance and the warmth and everything made me forget..

Well, [blog SusieQ27]... if I ever venture across the ocean again, we will have to while away the hours in your little haven. It sounds wonderful.

Until then, we have the speakeasy here which is rather empty now which means we can enjoy the house band and dance alone... maybe sip some champagne cocktails.

However, I anticipate that traffic here will pick up in a bit, so I advise even more private and intimate settings for later.

And for those who need further guidance:

Be prepared to know the password, to sing the song, to have a voucher, or to recite the magic incantation if you venture onward to...Hernando's Hideaway, No. 4.

Mmmm...I could do a little dance for you, Rocky.

Not having much luck,on your new site. Perhaps I haven't got the password quite right, or something. I have left a comment and was informed you would have to authorise it. Since then I haven't been able to view the comments. How do you do that, hun?

Do you still come here, I wonder? I hope so, or I'll never get to thoroughly inspect your Hernandez's Hideaway.

I have emailed you, but you haven't replied, darlin.

Gawd..I AM HOPELESS, where pc's are concerned.

Susie...

Sorry. I have been out of town. Yes, I haven't gotten to the new blog, but I haven't been back long. Not to worry. The comment should go through soon.
As for new mail... well... try again. I haven't seen anything new cross my path. As you know, I always like hearing from you!
