Favorite handmedown life lesson.

My Dad was a brilliant and a very plain spoken man.One of his sayings was "give people their flowers while they're still alive".I ask him about this and he told me everyone sends flowers and says what they appreciate about you at the funeral. When anyone does something good or is a friend even if it's a stranger, tell them you are grateful.Men are not like this much, so you should see the looks I get when I tell them I'm grateful for their friendship or whatever. What might surprise you most is the good things you will hear and the friendship you will get in return.

My dad died 9 years ago, he was a brilliant comedian, one of things he used to tell us was that it didn't matter who you are or how much money you had , when you die, the number of people at your funeral will stil be decided by the weather. lol. It was a superb spring day for him, I still miss him, guess you never get over being a daddys girl , N

I agree, your dad must have been a great man! We all know that's the honest truth!.....Now my mom told me once..whatever you do, don't get married when your 18, you go from your dad telling you what to do to your husband telling you what to do! ..Problem is..I listened to that and ........she left out this part, ..my dad is still telling me what to do!! Only I'm not listening as well!
