Welcome to progress.

Everything is rushed for most of us, in our daily rituals. We are about wait wait wait when it comes to ourselves. We are told to put it off, in favor of the more important stuff. Sacrifice. Duty. The greater good.

How noble. And utterly wrong. While I would agree there is nothing wrong with setting appropriate priorities for our lives, we frequently neglect setting appropriate priorities for our pleasure. For our inner well-being. For the health of our pleasure-giving and pleasure-seeking abilities.

I say some impatience is a good thing. Yes, I know seduction depends on seeking the right moment to make my move. I know that acting like a bull in a china shop ends up being scary, more often than sexy. But some days I just want it. I just need it. I am in touch with the hunger, and my body is telling me so. What do I do at these times?

What do you do? I have a suggestion: Next time, don’t ignore it. Next time you feel the urge rise, find someone. Grab them. Take them and ravish them, the way they like to be ravished. Conquer them, or surrender to them. Allow them free rein when the urges call your names. Practice this kind of impatience. Spontaneity can relax you. Let your impatient spontaneity recharge your batteries so you have the life force you need to juggle everything else.

Once you are relaxed and satisfied, the world will still be there. The stack of bills will be waiting on the table. And you will feel good about the give and take, and not resent the give give give.

Just a suggestion.
