diet...

jmebug wanted to know what I was doing to lose weight. Well, here it is.

To start with, I think it's important to tell you what I don't eat. (This is gonna be sad, just reminding myself what I no longer have in my diet!)
NO SUGAR!
NO SALT!
NO CHEESE!
NO EGGS!
NO BACON!
NO HAM!
NO HOT DOGS, HAMBURGERS, "FRIED" CHICKEN, BOLOGNA!
NO CHOCOLATE CREAM PIE!
NO CHOCOLATE ANYTHING!
NO WHIPPED CREAM!
NO JELLIES, SYRUP, OR PRESERVES (UNLESS THEY ARE MADE WITHOUT SUGAR)
NO SOFT DRINKS!
AND...
NO WINE OR MIXED DRINKS!!!!!

Okay, having said all that, it sounds like I now live a very sad and uneventful life. (I already do... just not many will believe me!??!)
But, knowing it's good for me not to eat those things the way I used to do, I can live without them... for now. (Hell, if I can live without sex, this is a snap!)

I do eat these things:
(If it's a meat, it's fat free and salt/sugar free.)
TURKEY
CHICKEN (ROASTED/BAKED) (OVEN FRIED IS OKAY)
STEAK! (YES, STEAK!)
SPAGHETTI (just watch out for the tomato paste)
"I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT BUTTER" {BUTTER SUBSTITUTE)
CINNAMON
NUTMEG
RICE
NOODLES
SWEET POTATO
IRISH POTATO
BEANS
SALADS (LETTUCE, ONIONS, TOMATOES, CUCUMBERS)
PEANUT BUTTER (PETER PAN - NO SUGAR ADDED)
TUNA
WHOLE WHEAT BREAD (NO SUGAR)
PANCAKES (WHOLE WHEAT)
COFFEE
ACCENT (SALT SUBSTITUTE)
SPLENDA (SUGAR SUBSTITUTE)
AND THE MAIN THING....
WATER!!!!

I drink over a hundred ounces of water... everyday! I know that sounds like enough to float a boat, and it is a lot... but I also put Chrystal Lite in it for flavor. The first few days it was hard to drink all that. (and I was a steady customer at the third stall to the left!) But my body has adjusted to it, and actually seems to want more. Every time I empty a bottle of water, I go and get another... right then!

I eat at least four times a day... sometimes five, it I can work it into my schedule. (still trying to hold it between 1,500 and 2,000 calories a day) And if I can work it in, anyone can!
Breakfast:
Cinnamon toast (usually three pieces)
coffee (splenda, non dairy creamer... two cups)
water (orange crystal lite... one bottle)

mid mornin:
a sandwich
peanut butter and Cinnamon (if you haven't tried it, do! It's really good!)
water

lunch:
salad (use a dressing made of olive oil. Also, one with balsamic vinegar.)
sandwich
water

afternoon:
another sandwich!
water

evening:
Any of the above items
(Yes, after a couple of days of this, you will still be hungry!)
water
Bryer's No Sugar Added Ice Cream! YAY!!!!(that can be a snack also, during the day!)

The idea is to "graze" all day. Eat often, and eat the correct foods. Your bodies metabolism will continue to burn all day. It sees you eating, so it works harder to burn off excess fat. And it works! But you must eat correctly!

This diet takes away from you sugar, salt, and will help with cholesterol at the same time. (If you are going to diet, why not diet right and get away from all the bad stuff?

The next item is Working out. Exercise!
I'm working out at least three times a week. And I walk a lot! This is a "must" do. Pick whatever exercise you like, but do it! And be faithful to it. Because you are being good to yourself when you are.

I hope that answered your question about the diet. Good luck, if you start on it. I think you'll see results in a week or two. You will feel better and have more energy, I promise. unlisted
