Relay for Life, the Red Cross, and Giving...

This week, the Red Cross has called me three times to remind me of the blood drive today at a Relay for Life here in town. They usually call, but three times sends a real signal they really need the blood.
I'm b positive, so they love mine. I'm told they will use mine within 24 hours of receiving it.
I try to give everytime I'm available to do so. I think they take it every 58 days.

If you get a chance, do it. It doesn't really hurt.

The Relay is for Cancer. It's touched my life more times than I care to remember. The money they raise goes to cancer research. So if you get the chance to give to both, then I ask you to do so. Even if it's only giving of your time. Take an hour or two from here, (we'll understand) and go.

Today's thought comes from "Visions."
This is a very true thought I had once, and am glad to say, I have again. (thank you...for giving me another vision.)

"I saw your eyes awhile ago
and they're still with me.
Your touch...
warm and willing.

Soon you'll be in my arms again
and you'll play on my stomach
... warm hands.
And in this quiet, moonlit room,
these visions of love...
and you will be forever
in my mind."

I do the Relay for Life each year now in honour of my brother. It seems the number of luminaries I light will continue to increase as cancer continues to kill. Good for you to do it.
Due to my own cancer I can't give blood but Hubby does and that is impotant. He is a universal donor.

teaontheside, you will be in my thoughts, also. Relay is also about the living and defeating this disease.

Your welcome, flinky.
