New Orleans...

Katrina has destroyed a great city.

This is the worst case scenario realized.

It makes personal matters and the usual everyday wants and worries secondary. The world that was known for all the folks in all the states that were hit, has been turned into a world of chaos. Survival is the only thing they can do... for now. Water, food, clothing, are of utmost importance.
We see looting going on. If it's for water and food then so be it. If I and my family were caught there, I would be doing whatever had to be done in order to survive. No one would blame you for doing that.
New Orleans will never be the same. Even after the water goes down, the mold and disease will become the next disaster. The survivors will be tested again... and again. It's sad to realize the whole city may have to come down.
The U.S. is usually quick to send help around the world. Now the U.S. could use some help "from" the world. If only by praying to whatever God you pray to; now is the time to pray. And if you can do more... then do so.
I realize these are the thoughts that are echoed by many. But just thinking about it isn't enough this time. If you are in a position to help... then do so... please.

In my 43 year's on this earth I have never seen or witnessed such human suffering. I, like most other's I hope have kept these people in my prayer's. I have also gave money to the American Red Cross. It may have not been much but, every little bit help's. So my hope is that all member's of AdultFriendFinder have or will help these people rise and overcome this disaster.

I tell ya, when I think of an American city being wiped out, I wondered where the Hollywood Liberals are, like they were bleeding oh-so-fashionably-liberal at the heart with their tsunami nonsense for an inordinate amount of time. Phooey. A third world country of human debris, and the Liberals all rally around their piety. Give 'em an American disaster, and they'll no doubt be blaming the Republicans and global warming and discrimination and all the rest of that kook fringe whacko Democrat baloney.

Same here, huny. It is a helpless feeling, isn't it? They say time heals, but for those people right now, time is everything. They need help "Yesterday."

looking at it on the news I have to wonder just what standards were kept for housing in those area's as the devastation is on par with Tracy

Boney and I have chills....thinking that Darwin is going the same way with building standards becoming lax, people becoming cocky thinking it wont happen to them......

because the last one was just so long ago.....

there were magroves and stretches of land on the coastline around darwin kept clear of development left untouched specifically for the purpose of providing shelter to the population from the brute force of a cyclone (as they are known here) yet today they are building suburbs and residences on these area's as southerner's invade.....they want the ocean views.....the convienience of the city just around the corner.....

and what we sacrifice is what shelter from such phenomia it had once afforded us.....

all it would take now is another tracy, max, thelma, Ingrid.....and darwin would be as flat as new orleans.....all bare those houses built during the recovery of darwin post tracy.....

don't say it just wont happen.....ingrid could have been the one.....thank god for Groote....

We have been used to hear about the USA only for a certain pattern in foreign policy, cultural impact and economic preponderance. So every time a major disaster comes, showing that the USA are made of people exactly like us it is all the more dramatic. Truth of course is that everybody is exposed to the whims of this planet, and all we can do is help after the rage of elements is gone. I'm sorry that so many people died and that a place with such history as New Orleans got badly defaced. And of course I'll be one of the many to help with his poor means.

Never argue with an idiot. He brings you down to his level then beats you with experience
