By the Window

By the Window

by either a sound
or a feeling of not having you
lying near me,
I see you
sitting by the window.

The darkness
of the room
hides everything
but the light
that filters
from the moonlight...
surrounds you
with a soft glow
over your face.

The traces
of a smile
the eyes looking,
but lost in thought...
the perfect vision of beauty...
you... by the window.

Looking out
beyond the yard
with the oak
standing silent
further away
than the moon...
you are lost to me
and everything around you,
except for the captured thoughts,
that have you in their hold.

What a joy
to find you...
thinking... wondering.
What a unique
picture of completeness
that seems to engulf you.

You turn
looking for me...
finding me
returning your gaze,
and a moonlite sparkle
is cast from your eyes
to mine.

And as you
look back through the window
one more time,
you whisper,
"I love you..."

and the view,
the moment,
the love...
is burned forever
within my mind.

That was a beautiful poem, I can almost imagine the vision myself. Nice imagery! Thanks for this beautiful way to start my morning.
