"Down" days and "Blah" days... (screw em!)

Everyone has "down" days. Believe me, I know all about them. But, that doesn't mean you have to be "down." Sure things go wrong. What you thought or wished might happen... doesn't. And what you thought you might have under control, you find out you really didn't after all.

So, what should you do? Stay home, stay in bed, with the covers over your head? Call, IM, email a friend and use their shoulder to lay it all out for them, so they can share in your misery?

That would be easy.

How about taking yourself out and buy an ice cream, or walk in the park... or just go to the mall and window shop, or something. Go play golf, or tennis. Go to an art museum, or to the park and watch the kiddos playing... or watch the ducks swimming around. Go tend to your flower garden!

Just don't sit around and watch soap operas, Oprah, or Dr. Phil. That really won't do anything more than just pass the time. And you are passing it with the one person that really needs to have someone "else" around them!

Get out and do something. Anything. Just get out!!! Make yourself get up and start moving. Think about happier times. Think about how many days are "good" days and not bad. Look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself you aren't that bad. And then tell yourself, this can and will be a good day, no matter what.

And if you see me while you're out, please come by and give me a great big ol' hug. (A kiss might be acceptable, also!) You see, I'm having one of those down days myself. And I did talk with a friend. And now I'm on my way out the door to see if I can find a cure for the "Blahs."
(I'm betting I will. You will too... if you try!)

I'm trying so hard to clear my head, to look to the good days ahead. Thanks for the virtual "kick in the butt" to get me to stop being so introspective. A nice long walk is just what I need.

Face the future where all our hopes stand.

Nothing takes care of the blahs like a one on one session with yourself, in the shower or tub. Think about one good thing that has happened to you and be glad that you had the experience. The blahs can drain us of the ability to think of anything but (sigh) the downside. Here is a Big Hug from someone who has been there and done that.

Angel... Like I said, I actually caught myself not wanting to do/face some things, cause my expectations about some other things hadn't worked out the way I had hoped. And yes, I took my own advice. hug, me
Angela... You're welcome. Actually, I've been known to give a playful "kick in the butt" to some of my friends on occasion. The first time is usually a surprise. And so far, it's always been followed by a smile from them... cause they know they actually deserved it; and it was needed. I hope your walk was very pleasant. hug, me
Polly... thank you for the hug and kiss. They are very much appreciated. So nice of you to take the time to share them with me. hug, kiss, right back to ya!

Jez... You are "soooo" very right about a shower. I love them, myself. I have one of the multi nozzle heads that can be set at many different types of spray. And I will use different sprays for different moods.

All or us should remember those good experiences over the bad ones every time. Thanks for that reminder. And welcome to my blog. Please feel free to visit anytime.

"Easy Like Sunday Mornin" ... a beautiful song/lyrics. One of my favorites. It reminds me of me and the way I try and be. hug, me.

goddess... my sweet friend. Thank you for the hugz and smilez. And there is never a need for you to apologize to me for anything you do. I think we're much too good of friends to worry about being absent. I know you are a very busy person... and I know you are always around... even if I don't always see you. 143, me
