When was the last time you got flowers????

I was just going through some old photographs that I had in my computer while waiting for the blogs to appear that have been backlogged for about 12 hrs or more.....when I came up this photo.

Last spring I was pleasantly surprised by this floral boquet from a local florist that someone requested to be sent to me.

Of course, I got a rose from my Beau that I met last July; but, aside from that these were the last flowers I received. I loved them so very much....

If you haven't sent your loved one flowers recently, you might consider sending them a "just because" floral arrangement. Nothing like life's little surpises.....

Up until 2001 I had never received flowers from anyone but my father (he used to get me a bouquet every year for my birthday). The last time I got flowers was about 4 months ago from my hunny and the last time I gave them was about the same time and to him. Great minds think alike. LOL

PillsburyCodeBoy - Yep.... daisies are great too! My Grandma had hundreds of those in her gardens... and daisies will certainly brighten up any day of mine. While I love roses, bluebonnets certainly work to edge ahead ever so slightly as my favs....

hourglasses - Awww... Too bad. Hopefully, they weren't presented to you withhout water. My daughter gave me flowers on my birthday; however, she had a friend's Mom prepare them.... however, the Mom didn't put water in it to keep it from spilling while my daughter was transporting them. Mom failed to mention to my daughter that she needed to put water in them.... and, I was working my 24hr shift when they were brought home.... They died by the next day; however, it was the thought that counts - right???

My daughter was soooo very embarrassed when I admitted to her what had happend to the flowers....

lifeisablast333 - Yeah.. My Mom associates roses with death; she prefers carnations and I have to remember that when I do send her flowers. To me that is backwards because most funeral sprays that I have seen, have been made of carnations. Oh, well.... If carnations make her happy, then carnations it is....

TxCelts - That is so very cool... I love the "just because" flowers.... and he was wise to not send them when you were getting flowers from everyone else in the hospital. It is soooo nice to get some flowers throughout the year and not just on special occasions.

PB133 - When I was dating a guy for three years, I sent him flowers to his office on his birthday each year. We only stopped dating because I moved away. Long story....

My second husband loved tulips and I gave him tulips on his birthday every year. My third husband loved geraniums, and I planted two huge flower pots of them on our apartment balcony.

I never ever forget about my guys who truly enjoy flowers....

I've never received flowers, but I give them to my girlfriend about once every couple of weeks, for no particular reason except I want to. Fortunately, she prefers the less expensive varieties. She's not a big fan of roses. She loves daisies best.

She was married once, and her ex had an arrangement with the florist to send her a dozen roses on various occasions. She hated that he'd made it automatic and didn't have to think about it. She'd much rather have something spur-of-the-moment; to her, that means I put some thought into it.

harshawj - I don't understand why people don't appreciate flowers. I was raised around people who raised flowers... roses, daisies, amarylllises, and so much more..... When I receive flowers, I appreciate them oh so very much and it gives me fond memories of walking through my Grandma's and Great Grandma's gardens in the country.

I still have a red rose that was given to me by a very good friend.

bestinbcs - Ahhh... that is cool. Once my family was packed ready to go skiing in Sun Valley(?) Utah, but the snow melted before we could go. Instead, we repacked our bags with swimming gear and headed to Acapulco. We were so bent on skiing, but if we weren't going to get to go skiing that year, we were going to have some fun in the sun!!! lol.... It was in my skinnie minnie days and I had a white swimming suit and the Mexican boys clamoring over me by the poolside. lol... It was a fun alternative for me that year. To bad, I am not that good looking in the same white bikini any more...lol..

Just a few weeks ago. And like the 'love' that came with them, they died very quickly.

I grew up in a flower shop, my mother was a florist, so I have always sent flowers to loved ones...But, the first time I sent flowers to my wife, see cried, I was the first to ever send her any,
see is a hottie and was 20 at the time...I could not believe I was the first.....I make it a piont to send her flowers all the time,
she is well worth it, I like to send them to her job, and she loves to show them off....and thanks for reminding me, she will have more
tomorrow. I also send flowers to my kids who are still in high school. But I learned never to send flowers to my mom, why, like I said she was a florist ( now retired) it upsets her, they are not
put together right, I get to hear that When I was Working We Did It This Way, speech.....naaa mom gets a card.....

I love giving flowers. I've only done it on the first date once - maybe that was overkill. Women should sometimes give flowers to men too. My favourite flower is lily of the valley - they only last for a few weeks in the spring, alas.

A few years back a lady approached me online about Tantra..after several months of back n forths online, I met her for the first time..and I presented her with flowers.

She later said she wanted to be my student of Tantra.. well, each time I visited her I always presented her with flowers.. she was my goddess and should be treated as such.
