What is the greatest age difference that you have dated or married????

Growing up, my Grandma had married my Granpa who was 7 years older than she was...and I later married my first husband who was 7 years older than I was.

Recently, I have dated men that were as much as 18 years younger than I am...and it seemed perfectly natural for me. Often though there is a double standard b/c if a man was dating someone 18 years younger than he was, there would be pats on his back....women often face some scrutiny for it.

Just wondering what are some of the age differences from the people you are dating and/or married to?????

My wife and I are 16.5 apart in age. It's strange in that her mother is only a couple years older than me and I'm older than many of her aunts and uncles.

I agree with you TxRose. She was abuse as a child by her step father, and her mother did not want to believe her, her sister, or brothers, and continue living with him. She have a mind of a child, and used her body to get the drugs. She did not know how to cook or take care of herself.

No, you do not have a sexual addiction. Some ladies and men have a higher sex drive, and know what they want and like.

That is too bad, cajunpet..... I have also found that trying to "help" people with MH, drug, alchol, and other addictive issues is of no use, unless they are TRULY ready for your help. 'Til then, all else is futile... no matter the differences in ages.

I have learned to stay away from people with issues b/c I am the one who wants to help them...and, unless, they ask me for my help, I will remain closeby for them to express that need.

In the meantime, I seek to have my sexual desires met constantly .... (hmmm... do I have my own addiction??? )

It was the age difference. I tried helping her with her MH and drug issues, but I was of no use.

Cajunpet -- Do you think that the relationship was doomed anyways because of the age difference, or do you think that its demise was due strictly to the MH and drug issues????

I dated a girl 18 when I was 41. Do not last long, she had mental problems, and was into drugs.

Have a great day.

Know something, evil muppet... It really doesn't matter... there are some younger guys who are very mature....and there are older guys who are very immature... There is no way of judging any age group with a single preconcieved mindset.....

Most of the people I've seen so far are within 3 years of me, haha. There's a girl I know that I'm a bit interested in, and she's 5 years younger than me, so if anything happens that would be my current record. Although most of the people I've met have been around my own age, I don't think it matters a great deal.

19 Years older than me. Which was a little bit odd because my dad was exactly the same age I do prefer them older than me but not usually that much older.

fishyfish - It is nice to know that the age difference didn't get in their way and it can work for a long-term relationship. I think that the age difference doesn't play a huge factor in my life; however, I am concerned about the longevity of such a relationship. The difference in my Mom and Dad's ages are only that of less that 2 months -- my Mom's birthday being on 1/15 and my Dad's birthday being on 3/4.

papyrina - yeah... there is a difference in the way we are treated at times by those men who are older than us than those who are younger than us. Is it, do you suppose, that the younger men generally take us for granted at times...and the older men have been there, done that and won't make that mistake again????? Why do you think that there is a difference in the older vs younger men????

no strings.....What sort of roadblocks did you feel that hindered your relationship? Was it the tastes in music, literature, things to do outside of the abode, etc???? What exactly do you feel that was that led to the downfall of the relationship???

I was with a 74 year old lover for a little while (I'm 42). It was a fantasy of mine and she liked younger men. I enjoyed myself immensely.

I used to date and was engaged to be married to a woman that was 19 years older than myself. At that time she had such a tight body, and it could have been compared to any 18 year girls. And probably better than most of the younger girls, even after having 4 children. This happened about 25 years ago, and this gal at that time was so small and tight still wore petite, junior sizes. Today she still looks good, just has a few extra pounds and a little gray air. Would like to see her on an intimate basis just once to see how much she's changed.

When I was 18-21 I typically dated women in their late 30's to lower 50's. I appreciate every experience I had in the past. I think it has helped form who I am. I would not trade those experiences for anything.

Good for you to date younger guys. Hopefully, you can enrich thier lives like mine was enriched when I was younger.

I was with a woman for who was 15 years my senior for 7 years.

The age difference turned out to be a roadblock for us, as I was 19 when we got together and she was 34. Although we loved each other very much, our experience levels were so different that ultimately we were unable to find a peaceful resolution to many of our problems.

Interestingly enough, at that point in my life, she could run circles arounds me sexually. My how things have changed now that I'm 32 years old...
