Seeing the light

This can mean many things to many people. To me, as I saw this beautiful peeking of the sun I was driving towards on the way home last night, it means a anewing in an sense and a new direction for me. I have put a lot of the past behind me (ie my husband’s death albeit never forgotten) and I have been working hard to have some new beginnings throughout the past 3 years, which entailed moving back to Austin, working through the barriers of a teenager, creating new job focus as a result of my auto accident in Feb 2004, and so much more.

I have added new meaning to my life through changing of careers, allowing myself to work in professions which more truly reflect who I am as an individual, learning more about myself and others through blogging, started on some books that I hope to publish someday, etc. etc.

For others, seeing the light, can mean seeing their way through a lot of turmoil to a life without the turmoil and confusion; as well as many other things.

What does “seeing the light” mean for you? Have you seen the light yet; or, at least, on the road to seeing it come before you???

Just curious…

digdug41 - Good for you! As with any addiction of any sorts, one must truly desire to break the cycle in order to really break the cycle for good. I sincerely wish you luck in your pathway of success of sobriety. If you have truly set your mind to it (and it really sounds like you have), you will certainly be a success!!!

Keep us posted.... and keep moving forward one day at a time!

for me tx was coming home from rehab and then doing the same thing I did before going to realize that I didnt have to live like that anymore, I kept running from my fears instead of facing them it has been getting better god gives me little miracles everyday. I was to busy looking for big ones to notice the little things that I get everyday like an I love you from my daughter or some one to tell what was on my mind (my wife) and so much more so yeah thats what finally seeing the light has done for me, and next tuesday is 90 days with out a drug or a drink for me and it means so much to me because there's nobody telling me I have to do it like before. I want to do it, a day at a time and I'm heading in the right direction its hard sometimes but it was ten times has hard when I was out there thanx for that question really good post
