    LOL...

I do understand, LBbackdoorman. I do believe some people get soooo acclimated to their own back doors (no pun intended) and don't get out much to explore the wide world.

I haven't travelled much lately because the gas prices outweigh my income in order to be able to travel; but, I am hoping that, with some of the recent gas price decreases, that may change again....

I agree. The "getting there" part is always the catch. But having done travelling so much in the last 20 or so years, I've learned quite a bit on making the costs sting less. If I travel international, I scour the internet for the cheapest bargains possible on flights. If its domstic, I do the same, but if I drive, I still determine the cheapest means possible, even if it means renting a car that is even more fuel efficient than my car.

I also try and determine if I can arrange a place to stay at my destination. This helps to eliminate hotel costs. And I do the same for friends that fly in from somewhere else.

I flew to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to meet someone. Thats about 8000 miles and almost 20 hours of flying. Funny thing is, I'd do it again.

So when I hear someone whining because they think driving across town, or even going to the next state is "Too far", I have to chuckle and grin.

I've gone all the way to Plano, on I-35 and 121, during rush hour.
If that's not determination, then dammit I don't know what is.
LOL... I know, I know. I can't imagine, though, that the rush hour traffic between Denton and Plano, BlueEyedSoul65being anything in comparison to what I have heard about Los Angeles' traffic.

I don't experience Austin's traffic too much. Having job flexibility gives me that opportunity to miss any traffic.
