Is it just me, or....

does it seem that all the majority of the bloggers seem to be from UK, Canada, or the US?????

I was pleased to see a German into the swing of things and create his own blog -- Longus1967. Too bad I am not fluent in German to understand what he is saying, but it is nice to see some foreign bloggers getting into the act.

Translator, please!!!

Maybe it is just me b/c I can only read English -- albeit a litte Espanol, and pick up some similar words in the other languages; however, it would be fun to banter a little too with our counterparts in the rest of the world!!!

What do you think????

Just curious....

UDATE - 070705: I found Efilnikufecin69's blog wherein he stated his post in both Deutch and English. What a thoughtful jester to keep our Blogland communication flowing around the world. Too bad he's going back to his girlfriend and is going to leave the blogsite. I told him that he could keep on blogging...but, we'll see. Maybe the other foreigners will follow his considerate jester to include his blog post in English as well????

Unfortunately, cajunpet, English is one of 7 languages that a European is taught in the elementary through high schools...in accordance with my European friends!!!

The translations tools available on the Internet, such as Alta Vista's Babel Fish, and low-cost translation programs, have brought machine translation technologies to a large public. These tools produce what is called a "gisting translation"–a rough translation that gives the "gist" of the source text, but is not otherwise usable for business.

These translators are good for reading reading blogs and web sites. At least you can understand what they are saying and you can communicate with them. The English language is one of the hardest language for anyone else to understand.

Take care.

gembarok - Oh, hee hee... yes I saw that... It is just that, I even get foreigners viewing my blog and the will respond in Spanish often times.... I wish I were more fluent in Spanish at times to really understand the whole scope of their message.. Perhaps with the translator that cajunpet was referring to, we will be able to have some idea what they are saying... although, I suppose you need to throw some caution to the wind that it might not be translating perfectly.

Hi TxRose, there are some free translators you can use on the internet. You just copy and paste, select what language to translate to. The one I use is "Babel Fish". It translates 15 languages.

This is in German. "Hallo TxRose, gibt es einige freie Übersetzer, die Sie auf dem Internet benutzen können. Sie gerechte Kopie und Paste, wählen vor, welcher zu zu übersetzender Sprache. Das, das ich verwende, ist "Babel Fisch". Es übersetzt 15 Sprachen."

Take care.

I'm with you. I would like to be fluent in all languages. Since that is impossible, it is time for science to create a universal translator that is affordable...
