If you were to move 1,000 miles from what you called home....

would you do it?????? would you even consider it?????

I know that I have a lot of transferable skills and can adapt to most any situation, although I would hesitate to moving into cold weather... b/c I don't take too well to the cold, unless it is justified with snow, perhaps, or be assured that my beau would be close at hand at all times to keep me warm!!!

and, what would you take or leave behind????

Just curious....

EvilMuppet69 - lol.. Yep. Learning a little bit about their language and culture would certainly help. However, from having been in Guatemala for a mission trip, I tell you more of my Spanish came back to me than I thought I had lost.... If I were there, I am certain I would be picking up more of their language as time went by.

Good luck, and certainly keep us posted.

Hi Rose. Things are going well with this girl. We talk a lot using a messenger program, which is nice. We used to do it while chatting to my friend, but now we contact each other directly. We have a lot in common.

I have several friends out there, and a possible love interest. My friends' families are also very nice and gave me a great welcome when I came to visit. Socially, it wouldn't be difficult to move, but I'd worry about finding work. I'd also need to study at least some basic Cantonese.

freetime648 - It is great hearing of success stories. I will keep it in mind when and if the decision has to be made with the beau....

Yes...yes...yes!!

If you have a chance to experience something new... go for it!! You can always move back (or, you might find you like it)! Everytime I take a vacation to someplace new, I think about the job market, housing and schools, and ask the question to my family... would you ever want to live here?

Your friends and family are always there for you when you come back!

I would consider it. A long time ago I mentioned a girl in Hong Kong I met through a friend. I'd be happy to go and live there to be with her, even if it would be a struggle to adapt.

Well, KKOSHROH78M, where I am considering is within the boundaries of the two oceans... so....

I think I will be able to take my cherry red blazer SUV...
and while family and friends will be a little further away, I know that there are always times for a road trip to be warranted....
and while I would certainly miss my work here, I know that my skills are very transferrable and transplantable....
and my apt lease is up in April, so no real ties there....
and my school is online, so no big heartache there (other timing it just right).....

hmmm....

I wonder if I have already convinced myself that it would be okay, if the situation was to arise?????

If .... there .....was someone ....that could keep ...me warm ....then I would.... i dare to....Oh yes ..... i will.

What I would take with me .....that is something....that I can't think right now..... my mind is fried ....... but what i would leave behind is easier ..... to know.

behind ...would be left ...... friends ..... closer friends .......!
Family ..... my Family ....!
My job and Offices ...... my work!
My house, my car (well....can I take that with me????), and my traces of Island

Still curious
