Dead Doctors Don't Lie?

What an interesting title to a book by Dr Wallach has written about nutrition and the balances of certain herbs that aid in the promotion of preventing, or rather elimination, of certain diseases -- ADD, diabetes, etc. It seems that he took to the obituaries and discovered that the median age of doctors was 58 years versus the average of anyother person to be 75 years, and inserts that our bodies are well equipped to live until a 100???

Well, my some of my own grandparents did, based on good ol' country cookin' and fresh food. They didn't sample the fast food stuff that we do day in and day out during our busy and hectic lives.

I learned about this book via a man that came into the office who was 78 years old and looked extemely fit and alert for his age. He stated that a few years back he had suffered a stroke, but then looked heavily into the herbs and found them to be extremely helpful. He told me that he also takes a 500mg capsule full of cayene pepper daily to unglog his arteries and strengthen his heart.

I told him about the fact that my late husband loved taking Bee Pollen on a daily basis...and, as a child I loved going to the bee harvesters and gettering fresh honey on the honey comb and eating on it for days.....too bad those bee harvesters aren't as plentiful as they were in my childhood years.....

I discovered a new Whole Foods store not too far from where I live and found all sorts of delectible items; however, for the most part they were more expensive than buying similar items in the grocery store. I might have to find a 4th job just to be able to afford to eat those more healthier items!!! j/k I am sure it won't be that bad... but, pretty close to it!! lol...

I am not sure that I could handle a capsul filled with cayene pepper, but I am interested in things that can ward off such things as diabetes as both of my grandmothers had that...and more brain type foods..

What do you know about this author? and, his book? Do you hold a lot of faith in what he says?

Are there other resources that, perhaps, may be more reliable to read from????

Just curious....

I have heard it said by several different medical type folks, that a human body could live to 120 yrs old, our systems are built to do that, but our chosen lifestyles shorten that total.
On a year to year basis, every thing we ingest, at some point of time someone will tell us it is bad for us, then 10 or 20 yrs later, it is good for us afterall. Just leave the fast food out, and live a happy life, not thinking about the high cost of medical insurance. I guess that is one difference we Canadians and the Americans have, our health care options. Ours is Free, but our taxes to support that are high.

keep on blogging......

yagottalikit - Oh, I am not ever sure that I could go into a totally holistic lifestyle, but with the high costs of health insurance and medical care, it is certainly worth checking out from a preventative medicine approach. I am ultra cautious when talking to folks and a few things would I try...everyone seems to have differing opinions about differing things.... however.... some things, like garlic perhaps, can't seem to do anyone any harm in trying....

I believe that eating natural (not low fat, low carb, low salt....etc) foods and using fresh herbs are definitely healthier. Herbal remedies, if used with knowledge and care, are quite effective. One must thoroughly educate themselves before trying to live a holistic lifestyle. It's very complicated and not as easy as walking into "Sun Harvest" and purchasing a bottle that states - "increases brain power", or whatever the ailment...
Certainly, there are millions of herbs, foods, minerals and such that have a positive effect on our health. Just be sure and research very well, those same things can do more harm than 3 Big Mac's a day, if not used properly.

the things people will beleive never cease to amaze me.
I spent the entire last year immersed in the study of human anatomy and physiology.
I'm , I'm , I'm...not speechless but think it best to say nothing.

The apothacaries are trained to do that in school too, but take it, often, at a more basic level......

I have always believed that every thing that we need to take care of ourselves in a healthy way is right here on Earth. It is all here if we know where to look. So much of what we ingest is loaded with garbage. The unhealthy foods that we eat are killing us. Read labels and know what you are looking at. Natural foods without all of the preservatives etc. are the way to go. And, have you heard of Arbonne? Check them out on the Internet! They are the real deal and the rest of the cosmetic and health industry can not even come close to their products. One more thing. Doctor's prescribe pills because that is what they were taught to do in Medical School!

I read a book c alled WHY ANIMALS DONT HAVE HEART ATTACKS AND PEOPLE DO.... by Matthias Rath

The premise of this book is that animals MAKE their own vitamin C and we cannot. Our ateries and other structures and processes are supported by the use of C and malfunction with the lack of it.

Now I can see in the book that he is promoting sale of some supplements and vitamins...but the science makes sense to me and one can adapt their own diet regimen to accomlish much the same things laid out in the book!

I have heard a tape by him. Some of his claims are pretty outrageous, but I think there is merit to some of it. Separating the grain from the chaff may be a bit difficult, though.

KunningLingual, I do recall that he had a supplement marketing business with it.

The article on the link agrees that natural remedies can be beneficial and agrees that there is an over-reliance on medication in many cases...but does have an issue with phony claims of Nobel Prize nominations, unsupported and undocumented mdical claims, and utterly false data all for the purpose of sellind overpriced goods of dubious value.

Now, about sex...

KunningLingual1 - Ahhhh.. good. Thanks for the tip on him; however, there are other books at Whole Foods that support various herbal remedies; although, my Dad (a doc) would abhore the thought of any herbal remedies or holistic approaches.

Looks like my last comment was killed due to having a web site listed, but Wallach is a fraud. Just do a web search, his supporters are part of his mlm group selling his products.
