Dang twisted knee cap...

I twisted it by getting out of my SUV and getting my foot caught on the seat. Don't ask. If there is a way to do something in a goofy way, I am sure that I will fit the bill every time to the "t".

It has been hurting now for a couple of days. I have been placing ice packs on it...but, it is still swollen. How long is it going to hurt?????

Wishing for a "Charmed One's" white lightner to arrive with his healing skills!!! Not possible, you say???? hmmm... Well, hoping that the pain goes away soon....

Wish I had access to a spa... In the meantime I have it massaging on a massaging ottoman and ice packs when I can sit still long enough!!!

Sorry to hear about you knee. You need to use a moist heating pad or hot bath now, to increase blood flow several times a day. Go to a spa if you have time, and use the jets to massage your knee. Ice is good when you first hurt yourself.

Keep On Blogging!!!! Have a great day.

indophilist - I don't run or jog, but probably should and maybe I wouldn't be in this predictament.... The injury is completed by the fact that on 2/1/04 I was in a terrible auto accident wherein a white suburban ate the entire front end of my white 92 blazer. My knees hit the steering wheel hard and haven't been the same since. I could feel my knee cap move for months after the accident....and now I think I might have re-injured it somehow by twisting it... YUCK! JUST LOVELY!!! What a royal pain it is right now.....

Ouch! I've had an inflamed medial miniscus(sp?) and a fucked-up
cruciate ligament, though the latter was no where near as bad as
it sounds. I feel your pain.
Do you run or jog?
A chiropractor told me that running develops the outer quadriceps
more than the inner quadriceps which can result in the outer quads
pulling the kneecap out of alignment. The way to prevent this is to
ride a bicycle or exercycle, which will balance the development of the thigh muscles by working the inner quads. If your knee is still hurting after a couple of days at least think about seeing a doctor or chiropractor (assuming you haven't). It sounds like your twisted
kneecap happened all of a sudden, but sometimes a knee injury builds
slowly and imperceptibly and can even set you up to make that
awkward move. Hope you get some relief soon!

Uh-oh... Sounds to me like you did a little more than twist it. You might want get that checked, especially of it's still swollen after 2 days.

Just experiance talking here you understand... I'm still wondering how I managed to get my OWN foot stuck under the seat!

Here's another reason those things are so dangerous. They are too big, and getting in and out of them is fraught with peril.

Rose dear,
I'm sorry to hear about your knee. I know all about knees that give you grief on occasion and really give you grief on rare occasion. I've been too hard on them in my life... lol. But I'd need to see it and lay my hands on it before i could tell you how much longer you have to go with the discomfort. Maybe I could make the pain less for a while. Untill then... stay with the ice... lol

Oh my.

You should have this looked at.

It's possibly a torn ligament or meniscus.
