My Life

Some of the posts I’ve been reading have caused me to reflect on my life a little.
I have had a good life overall.
Better than most I suppose, which I give myself (and others) credit for.
Don’t think of that as a conceded comment, it’s not.
I have made tough decisions and worked hard to achieve what I have in this life.
I’ve also had my share of tragedy. I have had to start over in life several different times and have made myself stronger and wiser each time.
I have known true love and lost it to circumstances beyond my control.
I have known hunger, poverty, discrimination, fear and hate to name a few.
I have walked down streets where the police wouldn’t get out of their patrol cars and I’ve met with executives in boardrooms who valued my opinions and implemented my ideas.
Yes I have had a good life.
I would make few changes if I could.
Even all the sadness I reflect from time to time seems to make the happiness all the sweeter.
At forty five I find myself again seeking that seemly elusive partner to share life’s wonders with. I remain patient and steadfast. As I find happiness in new friends and look towards new adventures I take a deep breath of content knowing that time is still my partner and new joys are just around the corner.

May we all be so fortunate.

I was about to comment but my head is reeling from the dissonance between the first two comments....

yeah, if it wasn't for all of those long hard times you might be reading someone else's blog and not mine....Thanks for ending up here.

Life is good.

I agree. Never settle and never let someone take your pedastal.

I am not dead yet
