It's really been 5 months

I can't believe it's been 5 months since my stroke. Since my life changed , turned totally upside down.
Originally, the doctors told me plan on a 6 month recovery period. Almost there!! Woo hoo!! I'm almost feeling back to normal, actually. Not quite normal, just almost. The closer I've gotten to the six month mark, I've tried to convince myself, and those around me, that I was getting better. There is most definitely something to be said for positive thinking. I have to say, the day the Dr told me that the latest MRI showed the swelling in my brain had gone down, I felt a sudden surge of energy. I think eventually I will be the same old person I once was. Or pretty close to it. I'm just impatient.I've never been good at waiting. I want it now!!! No wonder my 9 year old acts that way. He's his mother's child through and through. Except for his temper...that comes from his grandfather and his father. His grandad once took a hammer to the windshield of the porsche he was lovingly restoring. Just last week, my son asked me why he felt the need to destroy his lego ship he had worked on all day. I just shook my head.I'd like to think he'll outgrow it. But looking at my father-in-law, I'm guessing not.
