What the gods must hear...

Getting into my car I noticed the gas light was on. Funny, it had been on for almost a day now and I still hadn't run out of gas. Didn't really sweat it like I used to.
Yeah I can be pretty lazy like that not wanting to take the time to fill up, but it got me to thinking about how i used to "speak" to higher powers and ask them if they'd only get me to the gas station I would never run low again. Well there have been many things along the way if the gods would help me..blank I would..blank in return.
I say gods because I won't say there is one god or another in the heavens and everyone's entitled to their own belief. So whoever it may be jesus alah buddah krishna...You get the point
What the gods must hear...
Please god if you make the pregnancy test come back negative I'll never...
Please please let me get to work on time and I'll..
Just let them live a little longer and I promise to...
I know it was wrong but if but if you keep he/she from finding out i'll...
Help me win this lottery and I know i'd...
Get me back to my wife/husband and i would..
If you could just let her/him know to talk to me I'd..

So what has your god or power of choice in your lifetime heard? Life goals? Money? Men? Women? Regrets undone? Dreams hoped? Have you promised unfound loyalty and devotion for these unanswered prayers if they could just come true?

All of the above baby and never once were my prayer answered. This is why I no longer believe...a caring god would never leave "his children" in such desperate situations.

And I don't want to hear the human parents/children comparison. God is god (allegedly). We are human.

Hhhmm no longer believe? You don't necessarily have to believe in a higher power to possibly believe in a higher consciouness. Think of it this way...all the really fucked up things and really great things are all part of a bigger tapestry. A big quilt if you will. Those parts are small so you only see them for what they are if you believe in nothing but as more parts are made and you believe in something bigger, hopefully you begin to see the whole quilt before your eyes? You see the bad parts that have some blood stains because you poked yourself with the needle. But it's unique how the blood stains are in such a beautiful pattern. You see the good parts as they hopefully are the majority and create a wonderful piece. Maybe believing is not in something that grants wishes or leaves others in desperate situations but rather in a bigger picture that only unfolds as life does? A picture that helps every individual in their own way to be the best they can be? Just a thought... Thanks for the comment!
