Things that make you say "That Sucks"

I hate to see people hurting or troubled emotionally. Period.

The other night, I think Tuesday, I was surfing the blogs and after visiting all the regulars, I happened across a new one. I remember the handle, but I'm not going to post it here, because that's not really the point. It was a 30 something female, very lovely photos, very good writer, and seemed like a good read. I think I posted a comment or two, and hit the "Watch This Blog" thingy in the upper right corner.

Fast forward to Thursday night.

I was here again, surfing my usuals, and went to this womans blog. The first post was from last week. So I hit refresh, and then it went back to two weeks! A couple more times of this I realized she was pulling everything down while I watched.

I came back about forty five minutes later, and all that was left was her first blog entry. She left a comment about how she felt back then, and I could tell now that she had suffered turmoil in blogville. That sucks. Why does this have to happen?

Before I go any further, let me insert this:

Ignorant: adj.

1. lacking knowledge or education.
2. showing or arising from a lack of knowledge or education.
3. unaware or uninformed.

I understand free speech and public domain and all that stuff, but why can't people just figure out that if you don't have anything good to say, keep your mouth shut! I mean, it's the same thing as listening to the radio. If you don't like the song, turn it off or change the station. Nobody's forcing you to listen. It's the same thing here. If you don't like a persons blog, don't read it. But to go out of your way to comment in a negative manner makes one look ignorant to the same thing that makes this country so great. Freedom of speech/expression. If someone likes to put a certain element in their blog, whether it be lots of poetry, lots of nude photos, lots of jokes, lots of recipes, lots of shop talk, talk about parties they attend, co-workers, whatever... If you don't like it, don't read it. But remember this, that same person may not like your blog for one reason or another. I may not like your blog. Your mom may not like your blog. That's why it's yours. You get to personalize it. Respect the fact that everyone elses is personalized to them, not you. Don't be ignorant of the fact that everyone here has the right to express themselves in the way they wish. Not yours.

Your wish, your blog.

Their wish, their blog.

Simple as that. Badda Bing, Badda Boom!

Now go blog happy, damnit. Tires says so.

btw, the photo is sign language for freedom.

Pretty damn good yourself, you know! Right on.

Don't know who this was that got hurt here, but we all lose when one stops sharing.

I agree with the sentiment. For one thing, I've been surprised at how much blog content is political. And, politics being what they are (especially with an international membership), there's way too much drama in many of the responses. It does hurt to see people get wounded -- some of us have thicker skin than others, but there's an element of hope to joining a website like this rather than just a political one where you don your armor (and arguments) before entering. If you don't like someone's blog, "change the channel" and don't feel obligated to give the poster or host the proverbial kick in the nuts on the way out the door.

Tires, You would't believe lately how often i have deleted a few knuckledraggers (as PK calls them) comments from my blog, and i get too many "Hey nice pics ya wanna suck...." i try to be polite but sometimes i think wth it is MY blog, MY space and My pics to do with as i see fit. They are here and untill the Master/Mister of my dreams comes and asks me to not post them, they will be here for T/those who likes them. If the real stalker didn't put me off, a few cold comments aren't going to either. And i second Sis's love for Your wit and humour. *hugs to You and tits*

I didn't expect to get this kind of a response from everyone in this post. I'm glad that most everyone agrees with me. This is a subject that I'm sure is up for much deliberation. I just wanted to throw in my two cents. thank you all for listening to me vent.
