What I love about Fall

Living in texas you have to pretend that there are 4 seasons.. it is more like 2.. Hot and Lukewarm. But I do admit being a transplanted yankee I still love Fall season.

* the changing colors: reds, oranges, yellows.. how can you resist

* watching the news waiting for the next cool front.. desperately wanting to break out my favorite jean jacket or sweater

* jumping into a pile of freshly raked leaves.. loved it as a kid and still enjoy it now

* caramel apples

* Halloween

* memories of begging my Mom not to make me wear a jacket over my Halloween costume cause she thought it was too chilly to trick or treat without one

* the smell of fresh, crisp, cool air

* rosy wind whipped cheeks and wind blown hair

* burnt orange nail polish on my toes

* shopping for the latest fall boots

* my Mom's homemade pecan pie at Thanksgiving

What are some of the things you love about Fall?

* The first snow flurry that doesn't last but promises beautiful days of white to come

Walking through the woods in the cool weather here in Conroe and hearing the sound of water running in a nearby creek. The rhythm of the waves lapping the banks of Lake Conroe,driven by the north wind, and the solitude that makes you feel like the only person for miles. There is that very intense period right before sundown when you know that darkness is coming soon....the wind seems to sense the end of the day and it makes it's last efforts to shake a few more leaves from the sleeping trees before the stars start shining. Your heading home thinking about a cup of coffee or hot chocolate to take the chill from your blood and the thopught of a warm home home with a cozy fire stirs so many memories and pleasant feelings. Fall is always nice here in Montgomery county. Thanks for the chance to remember!
