Resolutions? !!! If You Say So

While making my rounds to families houses this afternoon (after church)all everyone alked about was New Year Resolutions. Some vowed to stop smoking, swearing and missing church. Others vowed to go back to school and make something of themselves. And of course the most made and most broken resolution of all "TO LOSE WEIGHT". I swear if i hear that again, i'm going to scream (oops did I swear, resolution already broken!)
It is hilarious to hear people promise themselves and someimes God, there solemn truths, only to have them last three maybe four days.

If you do decide to make resolutions, here is some FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
1.Have a strong initial commitment to make a change.
2.Have coping strategies to deal with problems that will come up.
3.Keep track of your progress. The more monitoring you do and feedback you get, the better you will do.

However, if you are like me, you'll have this:
1.Not thinking about making resolutions until the last minute.
2.Reacting on New Year's Eve and making your resolutions based on what's bothering you or is on your mind at that time.
3.Framing your resolutions as absolutes by saying, "I will never do X again."
