we lay entwined, listening to Vivalde,
he pointing out his favorite movements and notes,
where it gets faster,
where he is sometimes filled with tears
as the music is played with such intense feeling.

These pieces I've heard many times before,
usually as background music,
or movie mood setting music.

but never have I heard it through someone's soul,
through someone's heart.

Ahhh, Vivaldi. I love his stuff, from the ever popular Four Seasons to his guitar concertos. Great stuff.

There are so many pieces that speak to, and for, my soul. Bydio from Mussourgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, the aria from Don Giovanni where the Don is taken to hell, Mozart's entire 25th Symphony, Holst's Jupiter and Mars from The Planets. And, of course, Hey, Hey, We're the Monkees by The Monkees.
