hey mom

This is my first Mother's Day away from my kids (grown-up 20 and 23- but still my babies). I moved 1000 miles away from my home of 20 years over a year ago. The first year I flew them out to be with me. This year life is busy for all of us. So I'm "momming it" alone. And I'm good. I am so proud of my kids. My son has come through such adversity to be the self-sustaining, level headed man he is. My daughter is protector of the earth, off to summer camp to learn more about being a steward of the land. And they're both smart-asses of which I am just as proud. They love me, I love them, we're not together - but I am good. I am proud. I am happy.

Gonna go call my Mom now and tell her thanks.

My kids are both hundreds of miles from me. This isn't my first Mother's Day alone but it seems I am missing them more today than in a while. I've spoken to them both and they are fine. I ate lunch with my mom and gave her her gift. I'm proud of mine too. Mac
