Another Day without my Man

Today was a hectic day for me. My man is out of town, I over slept, and could not find my keys, but despite all the drama, I made it to work with enough time to get set up and ready for the day. I try to always be positive when hit with a dilemma, but sometimes you want to say what the fuck are [people thinking about. Here we are trying to raise the leaders of tomorrow, and the lights are on and no one is home. I am venting, I love what I do, I just regret that some people are selfish and don't realize the life long affect that they have on those placed under there care and concern. Peace out, have a restful weekend, and know that every day is a day that we can make a difference in a life.

The world has changed and unfortunately it has changed us as well. How did we ever survive without fax machines, cell phones, pagers, voice mail, ATM machines....the list goes on. It seems that everything that was supposed to simplify our lives has further complicated them to the point that we have lost sight of what is important. Just think what a wonderful world it would be if everyone took just 5 minutes a day to reflect on what they could do to create a positive impact on someone around them. I'm ashamed to say I don't even know my neighbors, but long for the days when my folks would sit in the yard in lawn chairs and the neighbors would come and hang out and all the kids in the neighborhood would play together. What happened?!? Sorry...didn't mean to get into a rant, but thanks for making me take a moment to realize that there is nothing too important going on in my world to not stop for 5 minutes and think about what I could do to have a positive impact on those I care about or work with.

It seems as if many are too busy to care about our future leaders. Many don't care about themselves either. I am a mother of three, who is very involved, and am a teacher of individual responsibility. I want my kids to know the value of a dollar, respect fellow humans, and have a determination, unlike any other. I tell them as often as possible, they can achieve anything they dream of, as long as they are willing to work for it. I do not want them to think they can take the easy way out of anything!!!

Welcome to the blog... it is a good philosophy you have... too often people don't stop for 5 minutes and think at all about what they are doing and its impact. Drop by and say hi sometime... Elysian
